tAll Encompassing Disney Thread
Disney Cruise next week. Is there going to be a sports bar on this cruise ship where I can watch the Texas/a&m game? I guess it really doesn't matter as I can't do anything about it, but I would at least be prepared mentally...and more importantly, my wife will be prepared for my negativity.

Ski Season 2024/2025
I was not familiar with Silverton. I had to look it up. That's even more desolate and difficult to get to than Wolf Creek.

Can we talk about Pickles?
Just had this. It looks nothing like this pic, however. It needed 3x more meat, and then the entire pickle needed to be wrapped in a larger piece of meat so that all of the fixins don't fall out.

I'm pretty sure this is MLK weekend, but I would still take that weekend over opening weekend any day.

Ski Season 2024/2025
I really need a webcam of a Wolf Creek snow stake. OpenSnow typically has them streaming at each resort when available, but with the amount of snow WC gets, I really want to be able to tune in when big storms roll through.

Puerto Rico
Great thread with some really good info. Wife has landed on PR as the anniversary destination at the end of March next year. Stay in Condado. Explore Old San Juan Hike/Explore El Yunque nat'l forest. Visit Luquillo Beach on the way to Fajardo for the kayak tour. I will go back and look at the food recs in the thread. She really wants to day trip to Aguadilla, but 4 hrs of driving does not interest me on vacation.

Blazing Saddles sucks and the opposite of funny. Monty Python anything is awful.

CFB Week 1
Just do one 5-6 game parlay for $25 before you leave for the Fair Saturday. 11:00 and 2:30 games only. That way when you come home smashed, you can check your account and only be down $25. Then bet $25 on a west coast game. That way when you wake up after passing out, you will only be down $50 total.

Your comments have been invaluable. You really add a lot to the conversation.

Mexico - Off the Beaten Path
I did, and there are a lot of great mentions. This thread mentions SMdA, but does not have anything super positive to say abt it. I really just want to know if there is another "Sayulita" that I am unaware of on the Pacific coast. Maybe a sleepy surf town near Mazatlan, etc., or some interior local on a large lake where we can get the best of both worlds.

Mexico - Off the Beaten Path
There are direct flights from DFW to Leon (2 hrs away) and Santiago de Querertaro (1 hr away).

Mexico - Off the Beaten Path
The wife wants to go to San Miguel de Allende for our 10 year anniversary next Spring. I had never heard of it until this thread, which does not give it rave reviews. We cut our teeth in Sayulita 2-3 years ago, and really enjoyed the slower pace that non-resort Mexico has to offer. I am more of a Mexico beach person than interior Mexico, but I would really like some advice to push me in her direction. Safety is my #1 concern, and as much as she wants to rent a car, I am against it bc I'm being a P. Our Spanish is very poor. We cannot conversate without sounding like buffoons', hence why I'm more comfortable with more touristy areas. But, I know there has to be somewhere that is close to meeting both of our needs (similar to Sayulita). Oh, and less than an hour drive from a larger airport with a direct flight from DFW would be ideal. Any ideas?

What new UT gear are you looking to buy this year?
You're better than that

Surly Dad Thread
I dread this day. It's 10 years away and I am already dreading it. My entire life revolves around my girls. I love very hard and very deep. I have almost thought it to be better to begin loosening my grip so I don't hurt so bad when the time comes to say goodbye, but I am incapable of that at the moment, which is a good thing. Maybe I will feel differently when they are in High School, but the thought of them "leaving forever" is a dark place that I don't like to visit.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Just don't do it! And is that why Kenny was such a waffler on wanting to go home, yet still wanting to compete?

Ski Season 2024/2025
Park City, UT trip booked for January 17-20. Deer Valley sounds like a little much for us. Plus, the prices are much more reasonable at the Canyons base. Staying next to the Grand Summit where I have stayed before, so the location is good. Really getting excited for some snow, now.
