That’s a pretty nice little BBQ sweet spot. Have you been to Brisket & Rice lately? We still need to try it. With Truth less than five minutes away, we usually just end up there. We did try the new Pinkerton’s since it’s equidistant for us from Truth and it didn’t do nearly enough for us to knock off Truth as our regular.
Fair. It hit me wrong and annoyed me. Californians love to tell us how superior they are to Texans, and in a whole lot of very important ways they are, but there’s a shit ton of diversity here. The diversity of Houston was in our top 2 reasons why we chose to live here when we were picking a city to live in when we moved back to Texas seven years ago.
Boston has long had a reputation as the most racist large city in the country. It’s laughable to argue otherwise. Shit, within the last 10 years, the Boston Globe did a seven part Pulitzer Prize winning series on racism in Boston. It’s not like saying Boston has a troubling history with racism is a controversial take.
I’ve seen more confederate flags driving to my in-laws lake house in rural Washington state than I’ve ever seen in Texas. That shit is backwards as fuck. We were up there a couple of summers ago and the nearest town was having some sort of festival that included a Civil War reenactment as part of the entertainment. They switched between which side won from day to day.
