Rudy. Eastman. Chesebro. Ellis (suspended three years). Clark (disbarment recommended and pending). Powell is the major bad actor that has yet to have her peepee whacked. Something remains pending in Michigan, though.
My point stands, though, that most immigrants are ineligible for most forms of welfare until they've at least been here a while and are on a path to citizenship, ie Permanent Residents (green card).
Well, for now at least, the current/recent developments seem to indicate most players don't play no school. Which is why I find it funny they talk about classes starting as if that's some big factor in portal signings. Can the NCAA even enforce academic eligibility anymore? Or did Kavanaugh trash that too?
Point of order. No non-citizen is entitled to federal welfare. Certain immigrants, those on Temporary Protected Status or Permanent Residents, can qualify under state laws for state-administered "welfare" benefits. But, typically, one condition of Permanent Resident status is gainful employment such that one is self-sufficient. And Temporary Protected Status aliens are, by definition, humanitarian cases where aid is appropriate.
I'm giving it to the ones that quit. Prosecutors, in the general case, are lawnorder types and often true believer jihadists within their prosecutorial sphere and that can be obnoxious, distasteful, and even wrong in some cases. But that needs to be separated from partisan allegiance. ETA: This Thompson character was appointed interim US Attorney by Trump, but did not receive the full appointment. Now I think we know why -- he wasn't Trumpy enough.
I'm sure it's changed because I haven't done anything in ED Va for more than 10 years, but most of the judges there were pretty salty old guys that weren't the type to take that kind of thing in stride.
Actually dug klippenstein's story out of it, https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/immigration-agents-terrified-by-ice. Apparently, Bovino is responsible for the education on interference. According to Klippenstein's sources, there's a split of enthusiasm for these missions as a whole, and the "surge" in Minnesota in particular. They're asking for volunteers for Minnesota because it's unpopular duty, but many worry that those that volunteer are probably a little too enthusiastic.
We had a cat that liked "adventure water" so much, he'd get in the shower with you. RIP Felix (he was eulogized on shaggy). Current cats lick shower doors and drink from the pool.
We have women's teams/sports as a result of Title IX. Take TItle IX away and you might just find athletic directors taking away women's sports (and unprofitable men's too) to meet the revenue share max, or just general cost-cutting. Title IX probably exemplifies what Churchill said about Americans: they'll do the right thing, once they've exhausted all other possibilities.
Well, I will give it to them that Medic______ and other social-program fraud is rampant. But it's not just in Minnesota. I can kind of see a true believer prosecutor getting amped up about fraud and letting themselves become a political pawn over it. But it's good to see that there's a bridge too far for some of them. As to who ordered it, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if it was Hardmeat Dhillon. She's nearly as big a piece of shit as Miller. Hindus got some fucking problems.
Coming back to this, one of the Minnesota federal prosecutors that resigned is this guy. Just a few weeks ago, he was claiming, without evidence, that half of the $18B in federal aid funds to Minnesota was fraudulently misappropriated. These guys don't know whether to shit or go blind.
Yep. the Civil Rights division will have one hell of a time enforcing the civil rights of white males. Those suits are tough enough to begin with without tilting the scales further in favor of the discriminating defendants because their counsel are light years better than the government. The DOJ was always a formidable opponent in any litigation. They're turning into a joke.
Relatedly, yesterday I learned that Greg Bovino, in addition to affecting a Marine Recon haircut despite never having served a day in any military, is 5'4" tall. Possibly least surprising news ever.
Yeah this is one of those things where the only "internal protest" that's effective is filing lawsuits or bringing criminal prosecutions. If they do that without Hardmeat's consent, they get shitcanned.
It's synonymous, basically, but a more polite and accurate way to put it is that there are some jobs that carry with them environmental and workplace hazards that we just don't want here and the cost of minimizing them makes having those jobs here uneconomical. That is, if we continue to give a shit about our environment or the health and safety of workers, which is dubious in the current environment.
Never seen/heard her before. Interesting chick. https://stevenhassan.substack.com/p/deconstructing-christian-nationalist Seems to know of what she speaks on a very personal level.
Also, again agree on a disengaged fraction of the electorate (and also believe that these are the ones responsible for Trump II Electric Boogaloo with "the base" remaining stagnant). It's hard for me to be sure because I am now officially a political pervert for the first time in my life and accordingly voluntarily expose myself to various media (I try to avoid being siloed, but may not succeed) But, I find it hard to believe that the disengaged moiety can be aware of ICE depredations and unaware of Trump's gutter racism and general stupidity and incoherence. I accept that it was easier for them to forget what a general shitshow Trump I was and vote accordingly with a vague animus toward Biden/Harris because of the economy.
