Itās not the distance, itās the lack of 4wd. Weāll be taking her car - 2019 suburban. I usually get her a new car and take her car, sell mine. Iāll just buy chains and see how things play out.
I donāt need a new car but wife thinks I should pull the trigger. Have a ā15 suburban with 110k miles. Weāre about to drive to New Mexico and she thinks I should go get a new with 4wd. Just seems like bottom is about to drop out of car market and waiting is the wise choice. Am I wrong? Should I just go do it?
Trying to plan a last minute trip next weekend. Driving from Houston. As of now, because weāre familiar with it, leaning Angel Fire. Wife is trying to get us to go presidents weekend but seems like things get busy. Anywhere else I should consider? 3 kids 9,9,10 that have skied once.
Glad you brought this up. This is my first winter with a pool. Iām assuming my generator will take care of everything if power goes out. Guess the pumps need to run constantly?
Crazy, I have something similar I was just coming here to post. Just out a pool in and got everything graded out. Not as steep as it used to be, but now I have slow moving water that doesnāt seem to dry out. I have some drains, could I just turn one of the drain pipes into a French drain?
Have a ~4 year old TCL that refuses to find WiFi networks. I have reset it multiple times and tried everything I can find online. Have an old fire stick connected for now, but donāt like that set up long term. Need a cheap smart tv. Itās in the kids playroom and runs Disney+, Netflix, Prime and sometimes I go in there for football games. Anyone have a Fire TV? 50ā for 250. Hisense for 230? Any other options out there?
I bought C9s from Christmaslights.com a handful of years ago. I was strongly against going LED because they always seem so dim. These turned out great. Bought a 500 ft blank roll and cut my own lengths. Definitely the way to go.
I have 4x4 posts on my patio that I need to wrap and make roughly 8x8. Any thoughts on the wood I should use? They will be painted and exposed to direct weather on at least 1 side. Looking to control costs, but itās a main feature of my house so if I have to make amends I can.
Iāve played tennis my whole life until we left Austin 7 years ago. I havenāt been able to find anyone to play with (havenāt tried all that hard) but Iām thinking about getting back into it. I used to play the singles ladder in Austin a while back (not sure if itās still running). I really prefer doubles. Just hard to find a good partner. Maybe Iāll use this thread to get me going again. Until then, I mop the floor playing pickleball at the rec center on Wednesdays.
Not using pool service. The filter on the pipes (by all the pumps) has a bunch of junk in it. Can I clean that out? Pool builder told me a pool service would clean it a couple times a year.
We used a silver travertine and builder said not to seal. Landscapers came in and got red clay all over it - looked stained. Little scrub with a baking soda water mix got it all out.
Thanks for all the info. I did a picture test - pic of one, pic of the other - which one you like best? 4/5 she picked the eagleston holly. Weāre going with that.
Good points on the climate. Iām in north Houston and these will get blasted with full sun. My FIL called the cherry laurel trash trees. Is he right? I want the eagleston but I need to get my wife on board.
