The fellow who took that famous photo of the young gal kneeling over the body of the dying young man at Kent State was from across the river from me. I used to write at the same paper where he worked. John Filo is his name. He went on to work for the AP, the Philly paper and I think then CBS.
Oh, I forgot to mention last week how God-awful Notre Dame’s uniform pants looked in their game against us at Pitt. Apparently, earlier in the week Notre Dame asked Pitt to wear blue pants, not our normal gold pants. We said no, so Notre Dame came out in white pants, that looked like they were grabbed off the laundry pile. They looked dumb.
Haven’t been able to watch much but, it’s pretty chilly out there. I got done in the yard cutting up leaves today and then it started to snow a bit. Winter is coming quickly. What I saw of the Ohio U crowd was pretty sad.
He’s going to have to put in a ton of work to become an NFL QB. Like others have said his tendency to hold on to the ball too long will get him hurt. He’s going to have to really throw under pressure, not just on the run. It will be interesting to see if he can, or is willing to, do the work. Looking good throwing while wearing a t-shirt and shorts is pretty much the opposite of throwing when some 235-pound LB is about to plant you in the turf.
Sanders does not look in any way athletically special.
These guys in the NFL are just so good. His running around and holding on to the ball too long will get him hit way too often.
That sure was.
