I assume (but could be wrong) that the main issue is petty theft, just like most major cities. London is a shitshow these days with watch and handbag theft. I no longer wear my nicer watches out and my wife has had 2 handbags nicked in the last 2 year, one of which was last night in our local. Fucking hate that shit but thatās life in nice areas of big cities.
Expensive but does the job very well. Much much better than any pods and you can try different types of beans.

Ahhh I forgot about B&B. Itās great, with a more casual feel.
I rarely do a steakhouse any more as itās too expensive and the wine is a rip off. But If I was going in Houston, Iād do Pappas Bros on Westheimer every time.
The whole country is magical. After 3 weeks on the road and roughing it we decided to splurge on a night in Danang to just chill. Stayed at this place, which was unreal. Went down to China beach and hit some bars in the evening. Danang wasnāt even on our itinerary but turned into a really great day.
Havenāt lived there in 2 years but the obvious answers (I think) are
steak - pappas bros
cue - truth, pinkertonsā¦ā¦ā¦..then pit room/roegels/feges
tex Mex - ninfas on navigation, el tiempo, lupes
bludorn if you can get a table for that size of group. Prob difficult
xochi in the hotel is also great, as is Hugoās
Man, all these recent comments are giving me the itch to go back to Vietnam. We did 6 weeks in Vietnam and Bali in 2018 and was probably the best trip Iāve done. Hanoi -> Ha Long Bay -> Hue -> Hoi An -> Danang -> HCM. Wanted to do Sa Pa but was rainy season so had to give it a miss.
We did two nights on Ha Long Bay and thought it was great and got to see more than just the one night tour. We also had the boat to ourselves (2 of us) so that helped tremendously.
I can only comment on a few of these.
Noble Rot is a good place but only been to the one near Holborn. I try to avoid Soho as much as possible.
Evelyn's is supposed to be great but it is tiny and therefore a tough table. I went to its predecessor, an Italian joint, a few years back and it just does't seat that many patrons
Gymkhana is great. It's high end, expensive curry with a cool scene and the food is spot on. Couple of decent pubs right across the street too.
Haven't done Cinnamon in over a decade but it used to be solid.
Paradise - don't know this one but Hoppers is another Sri Lankan place that is really good.
There were 3 big calls
- Betancur on Havertz - I was OK with this not being a foul as I thought he barely got the ball but could only tell after seeing the right replay angle
- Richarlison - I thought he we clearly offsides and blocking Mendy's view. Tottenham supporters will see it differently. A bad call in my eyes, but I do see how it could go either way
- Romero - that was a clear red, no doubt about it. Not many in the UK (outside of Spurs) are disagreeing that it was a red
Timo gave a great effort nearly all the time, but he just couldn't finish or deliver when needed. I can't question the effort but in the end it didn't work.
Just booked a long weekend in early December in Strasbourg. Havenāt been there in about 15 years and looking forward to the return during the festive season.
