  1. This kind of post illustrates the contemporary life of the modern sports journalist. You are practically a Sports Information Director who isn't getting paid by the people you're publishing information for. In this case he's floating the notion that the Big12 is open to the idea of 2023-24 being the only year of 14 schools. Sports Illustrated just did the same thing. The SEC and OUT are leaking the idea of an early departure in order to create pressure on the Big12 that is inevitable an they should go along with it. The life of most sports journalists is now spent floating information that the actual SID doesn't want to publish himself.
  2. If you don't have time to read every post, even if it means neglecting your family, your church, your job or your personal health, then you're not Surly material.
  3. This is no secret. She's a mean b!tch and its been posted a dozen times on this thread by the Tech fans who post here. (Me being one of them) And we're all wondering, "Why has he stayed in this relationship". So lets say there's audio and video that shows Randi to be the aggressor and she has gone on some destructive, violent rampage and Beard was indeed just trying to defend himself. Or he just wanted to get out of the house before he does something they'll both regret and she blocks him from leaving. <Very common in domestic abuse for an angry man trying to leave before he hurts somebody gets blocked by that somebody and he has to sling them aside just to get out>. I think this scenario is not only possible, but probable. With all this considered, CB has still shown a huge lack of judgement in not breaking up with this easily replaceable GF a year ago. The song "Self Esteem" by the Offspring comes to mind.
  4. Aggie portal defections now at 25. https://thespun.com/college-football/sec-program-reportedly-had-25-players-enter-transfer-portal
  5. Apparently this is no longer true. Fardaws Aimaq is not transferring. However, he is mending a broken bone in his foot and I don't expect to see him until early March.
  6. NSIAP Hitler weighs in https://www.captiongenerator.com/v/2284532/chris-beard-arrested
  7. Tell me you don't wear glasses without telling me you don't wear glasses.
  8. As a person who wears glasses, I can tell you almost nothing makes me angrier faster than somebody messing with my glasses. Doesn't matter to me if they did it in jest or anger. Doesn't matter your gender, race, size or relationship. You pull my glasses off my face and I'm going full force swinging, kicking, punching, hair pulling... You might be bigger than me and end up kicking my arse, but you will regret tearing the glasses off of my face.
  9. If its any consolation, some Sh!ts going down with Mark Adams in LBB. 1. Their top portal transfer is transferring. 2. There's something else going on that isn't being talked about. Your guess is as good as mine Multiple Choice A. Ex Wife Problems. B. New Wife Problems. C. Trannies. D. Monkees. E. All of thee above.
  10. Can someone please make a Hitler "DOWNFALL" video of the whole Chris Beard debacle.
  11. Randi was the Volleyball coach at Frenship High School here in Lubbock. She was physically violent with her players. Specifically, yanking a girl by her ponytail. She was allowed to resign quietly. We all looked the other way because she was Beards GF. So as you say, Why the heck did he stay with this crazy bitch. He's a grown ass millionaire with an easily replaceable significant other. As you know he was a god here in Lubbock, his initial contract with UT was a pay cut. He didn't even get in a bidding war. He was in a hurry to get out. Many here in Lubbock blamed her for wanting out of Lubbock and rumors are she had given him an ultimatum. (These rumors existed before he went to McDonalds) So if he'd told the crazy bitch to piss off back then...He'd still have a D1 coaching future.
  12. Mike Leach is dying but Kent Hance is still alive. Life ain't fair.
  13. Tech just barred Adams from going to the McDonald's in Plainview.
  14. He learned too much from RMK.
  15. Wrong kind of speed
  16. Don't worry we don't have any plays designed to exploit this fact. Nor a line that can block long enough for anybody to go deep. Nor a QB that can get him the ball. So, other that than, you should be scared.
  17. The team absolutely loves him. I do a lot of Uber driving on the weekends and gave about 6 players a ride to an after party the night of the UH game. You could tell they all were elated that it was Smith on the game winning TD. They were defensive about the fact he wasn't the game 1 starter and asked me, "How could he have not been the starter to begin with". I explained that he grew up playing in a Vince Young style offense (Please Im not making a comparison here) And in Texas High School football a lot of success comes from having your best athlete with the ball as often as possible. But in college football (unless you are in fact Vince Young) you have to able to work the entire offense and at this time Donovan Smith can't work half the playbook. I believe he's smart enough to learn the rest of the playbook he's just not there yet. So the OC is going to pick a starter that can run all the plays and that in fact was Shough.
  18. Here's my game thoughts. As somebody who is a Tech fan. Donovan Smith: He's the second string QB for a reason. 1. He doesn't know but 1/2 the play book. 2. Because of that we rely heavily on the RPO plays which is what he did in high school. 3. The problem with that is his reads are wrong half the time. 4. He is a good runner, hard to solo tackle, doesn't get hurt easily. 5. His late game antics versus UH were really good and why Tech fans are mostly OK with him being the starter. 6. He can't throw to his right. If your DC knows this it can be a long day for Tech. UH figured it out and put an extra DB on the defensive strong-side, thus leaving more receivers open to Smiths RH side. But he can hardly throw accurately that direction. Both his pick sixes have been to the RH side. 7. But his greatest weakness is he doesn't make progressions. He stares down his primary target and never throws to the second target if the first one isn't open. The running backs: Decent, not great. SaRodorick Thompson, is a very good runner, but he missed a block on a blitz last week, this will hurt his playing time. Tahj Brooks, good. Doesn't go down on first contact. Recievers: Jerand Bradley: Very Good, a real threat could start for most teams. Loic Fouonji, Fastest player in the Big 12. The knock on our recievers is they quit on their routes and don't fight for jump balls. I know why there's a tendency to quit on routes. 1. The QB is under pressure because the O-line isn't all that good and so he has to scramble for all the yard that he can get. 2. Smith just can't do check downs. So if youre a receiver and on a particular play youre not the primary target you know that there's Zero chance the pass is coming to you. So why haul arse on a post route, if theres not chance that the ball comes your way. TE: Mason Tharp, great hands, great TE, we just aren't getting him the ball. O-line: is the best we've had in many years. But all the previous lines were really really bad, so being better than those means youre still not very good. They are fundementally sound so at least they'll get in your way before getting tossed aside. Defensive line: is pretty good. But they haven't seen anything like the UT oline. Line backers: They aren't a strength, but they aren't bad. The D-line is good enough that our LB's aren't having to take on RB's who haven't been touched. Secondary: The weakest link on the defense. You can throw all day.
  19. I don't think thats true. My tickets are on my phone right now.
  20. I know, I tried to edit immediately but it wouldn't let me
  21. Tech fans bought up all remaining seats for the Feb 1st game. Nicknamed "Operation Austin Take Over" https://kkam.com/texas-tech-fans-allegedly-sell-out-arenas-in-austin-too/
