  1. Out of the Past - Kathy Moffat was a fun gal. “Hang my gallows high baby” Name of the book, English movie title and Mitchum’s quote at the end. Much more fitting title.
  2. Nice video breakdown of Abmas. What an amazing shooter and pnr’s with Disu for midrange and Shedrick and Mitchell for rolls to the bucket should be a strength. Will his defense improve or will he at least give more effort? Will better conditioning enable him to do so without taking away from his offense? Shedrick can help on d for drives but will get eaten up on pnr’s if abmas continues same lack of effort. Hunter is terrific on hounding the pg dribbling the ball up court and that will help Abmas on the defensive end. Hunter’s not a great shooter as he needs space as he brings the ball down when shooting threes. With the focus on Abmas, Hunter should have more time for catch and shoots. Did duke establish the game plan to limit Abmas? Probably and with Mitchell and Hunter not great shooters, it might be effective. But Texas is way more dangerous than ORU. If Abmas doesn’t have the ball in his hands, there should be lots of off the ball pnr’s with opportunities for the roller as well as Abmas This will be a fun season.

Maybe Callaghan can hire Greg as an assistant. He’s looking for a job.
  4. 80s was a great decade for teenager movies. There was a paradigm shift in advertising that focused on teenagers as well. That said these are my favorite 80s movies. This is Spinaltap - one of my all time favorites Do the Right Thing - entertaining as hell Raising Arizona - my type of humor Shoah - I expected to be bored , but the conversations were enthralling Koyaanisqatsi - really good to see while stoned at the Varsity theater in the 80s and enjoyed it watching stoned in the 20s. A great decade for foreign films introduced to the American market as well.

I want Tim Ream to tutor Miles Robinson at the National camps this summer. Make Ream a special assistant this summer while he’s mending his broken arm. Robinson turned down a renewal and should be moving to Europe.

What a wanker. <————————————————> Wanker Mensch
  7. It was Wolff with the assist.
  8. Notice the pass by Tsakiris soon after he replaced Luna.
  9. Yttv has fs2 so I’ve got games set to be recorded. Good news. US supposedly beat African power Senegal 2-1 in pre cup scrimmage. Bad news. Cowell scored both goals and is suspended for first game.
  10. The Comal was barely over the bank at its narrowest point yesterday morning. It’s now up 50 cfs to 200. Still below normal of 300 cfs. Every little bit helps.
  11. Patti Rocks. Independent film from 1988. Raunchy, funny, honest and insightful. A buddy road movie that is usurped by an independent woman.
  12. Just missed it.
  13. I like this list. https://www.timeout.com/film/100-best-comedy-movies
  14. Maybe he can try an east coast school next year.
  15. Worked at a restaurant that had live music playing country music tue-sat back in the early 80s. I was into punk/new wave with a solid grounding in classic rock and Motown Nothing better than closing time on slow nights when the musicians played for themselves. I hadn’t heard many of the songs before and these two were gut punches that I had to later track down.
  16. Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly With His Song. Joe Tex - You’re Right Ray Charles Hayseed Dixie - I’m keeping your poop in a jar. Dave Allen- Haley’s Comet Tom Tom Club - Genius of Love Kevin Gordon - Colfax
  17. Local Hero is on tomorrow at 7 pm. Knox Oyel and Gaaas. I’m a firm believer that it will hold up.
  18. Hey hey my my… Beer Run Dark Town Strutters Ball
  19. I’d rather see Catholic High School Girls in Trouble.
  20. Good lord, this thread needs a passing Navy ship.
  21. There are several good Boorman films. Hope and Glory, The General, Point Blank and Tailor of Panama. and of course, Excalibur. This is a pretty good article on him. https://www.indiewire.com/2015/03/the-7-essential-films-of-john-boorman-266342/amp/
  22. The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover. Mulholland Drive Tampopo I’d say a John Waters movie, but I don’t care for any of them. Trainspotting is my favorite of fucked up films.
  23. We all thought “this guy fucks” during March Madness. Now he’s in an environment where everybody fucks and he’s missing a testicle. C’mon Donewald. It’s time to show some heuevos.
  24. What’s the update on Donewald? He’s a key guy to have for coaching and recruiting. Especially foreign players.
