Everything you are saying is true (except the trying to much part because I think you misunderstand my point) and I actually think Shedeur is a viable NFL starter but the phenomenon I described definitely does exist. Ive seen YouTube videos of people accusing 10 year professional Joel Bitonio of missing blocks on purpose a la that fullback on The Program to Shedeur's Omar Epps. Stefanski was called a racist. And white dudes REALLY hate being called racist. Hence, one reason many seem to be avoiding the job (also Cleveland sucks)
The line got better with Robertson at Center and Hutson at guard. Arch got better at the same time in a wild coincidence. Hutson was a mediocre guard but a terrible center. Robertson lacked ideal physicality but seemed more in sync with Arch and better at getting the right hats on hats
The 2012 NLDS would be a good comeback to revisit that hasn't already been beaten to death. Who remembers the Reds winning 97 games then going up 2-0 on the Giants? Giants took Game 3 in 10 innings 2-1 on a Scott Rolen error then Lincecum in Game 4 and a Buster Posey Grand Slam in Game 5. Giants would go on to win their 2nd of 3 World Series titles in 5 years
There is a 100 percent chance we will give up some passing yards at some point next year, and people are going to be shocked and angry and demand a scapegoat
QB: We have Arch Manning RB: we brought in 2 1000 yard backs and have a good looking freshman plus a guy who went for 100 in the bowl game WR: Cam Coleman is a potential top 10 pick. Wingo and Mosely will benefit from being 2 and 3 rather than 1 snd 2. Both will play in the NFL DL: Collin Simmons is a top 5 pick in next year's draft. DT group looks comparable or improved from last year LB: Smith looks like a breakout star. Biles is an All Conference level player. Depth is unproven DB. Lose 2 3 year starters we are replacing from within. People's primary reason for optimism here is Akina leaving. I completely skipped on Littleton in my initial post, which was a big error. Is he back at slot corner or moving outside? Phillips looked good in his few starts which makes him analogous to Goosby in my initial comparison. Williams saw less and less PT as the year went on, next year we are counting on him to hold down FS. The Rutgers guy might be more Gavin Homes than Mansoor Delane. It could all go right and DB could end up a stronger position group than the ones I listed above littered with high NFL Draft picks. But if you can't squint your eyes and imagine a scenario where a young secondary full of moving parts goes through some growing pains, you probably haven't watched much college football
Defensive back is probably the area you could compare to last year's Oline. One full time starter back plus a veteran bench piece and some young guys we are putting a lot of faith in. Although we did bring in a dude from Rutgers, which is traditionally a harbinger of good things for us. Burke is a big loss too. Jackson and Terry and Zina are good looking prospects but Burke won us that aggy game
I think DT will be better in 2026 than last year. Hero and January are a year older and now have a year of experience. Brevard is a loss but we got the 390 lb dude from Arkansas to plug up the middle. Maybe Justus Terry turns into an interior defender too.
You know what else is bad for baseball? When your sport's fucking World Cup is in less than 2 months and you don't market the event in any way whatsoever
Problem with the floor is there aren't enough quality free agent targets for 30 teams to spend that much money. Average NBA player comes into the league age 19-20. 4 year contract. Incentives to stay lots of young talent on the market Average NFL player 22-23 years old. 5 years contract for the stars. A large pool of free agents on their mid-late 20s every year Average MLB rookie is 25 years old and has to wait 6 years to hit FA- the year going into age 31 season. The cliff season for a majority of post roid MLB hitters.
