Yep...she's awesome! She was 25, I was 40. Who knew? That was 2011.....
  2. Tempting...but I'll stick with what I got. She's definitely a keeper. And the kinda girl you don't see coming. I'm lucky to have her. Although, I do get older and my wives seem to stay the same age...(alright, alright, alright!) We've got 14 years in, married for 11. My ex-wife and I had 16 years in and 13 married (she was 39 when we parted), so there will be another milestone to accomplish in a few years. Anyway...back on track...Calistoga, here we come!...in 2 weeks!
  3. Seems kinda lame to necro-bump my own post, but Napa is coming up. Looking forward to a good time. Kinda nervous, though...never had a 40 year old wife before. How will I live.....?

When I got my first one 5 years ago, it was 25 miles away and they were adamant I have someone drive me there and back. My doctor wife was working 25-28 days a month at her hospital and told me to schedule it on one of the few days off she had scheduled...her 35th birthday. I booked in first, which means we had to get up at 4am on one of her only days off so she could cool her heels in the parking lot (COVID, remember?) while I got probed. The doc actually came out into the parking lot to give the prelim details and schedule the follow-up appointment like a car-hop. I felt bad, but, for whatever reason, she loves me and was happy to do it. When I got in the car, she asked, "How do you feel? What do you need?" I said, "Take me to Whataburger." That 9am Double-Meat Double-Cheese w/ Jalapenos, Large Fries, and Vanilla Malt hit so hard. And then...the nap. The resulting gas was glorious. Happy Birthday, baby! Good times.....
  5. I'm not too excited about it, but I figure there might be a small payday if they start selling off pieces, spinning off, tweaking their financials, etc. What I AM excited about is the Honeywell divestiture. I've done well on the GE three-way split, also on the Kellogg thing (to a lesser degree). Hoping to jump on this bandwagon, too.
  6. I cashed out and took my profits from Kellanova and WK Kellogg today. Patted myself on the back for a bit and then dumped all the proceeds into Honeywell. I plan on dumping as much as I can for the rest of the year there and Kraft Heinz while they figure out what to do with themselves.
  7. I had my Emergency cash in HYSA, but started putting extra cash in VCRM because of...taxes! Now that HYSA rates have started coming down, I moved 2/3 of our emergency fund into VCRM. Currently yielding HYSA rates without worrying about paying taxes on what's gained. Vanguard has a few Muni-Bond funds to look at, both passively and actively managed. Your mileage may vary, but check them out.
  8. We only give you shit because we love you. Or...because you just don't seem to get out much.
  9. Helobious has to be a sock, right? Just here to troll...? If not, well...bless his heart.
  10. As far as moves go...does not seem terrible in the whole scheme. Gotta get your shit from Point A to Point B somehow.....
  11. I can't imagine what that area looks like now. I lived in Eden (just down Thousand Oaks) in the mid-to-late 90s. Loved the HEB. My favorite liquor store was where the CVS is now. There was a CD Exchange and some kind of bar/patio/half-assed-music-venue (Jack's, maybe?). Good times...
  12. They all do. Except maybe Hyatt. And you still need to have a backup program when you have them.
  13. Fuck me...Crystal is $2.80 now...?
  14. ...those goddamed owls!
  15. Glad that you are ok. Shart thread is that way, tho.....
  16. Stubb's Wicked Habanero Wing Sauce is my go-to for both flavor and heat.
  17. I second Penelope's post, for I, too, am a former Starwood girl currently forced to bow down to our Marriott overlords. And uses the crap out of my Amex Bonvoy Brilliant (or whatever the hell it's called).

Last time, I never even touched the cash I converted, and then took a bath converting it back. Just don't even bother. You can tap everywhere.
  19. I'm glad you care so much. Are you writing a book? Updating your database? Keep up the good work, Gladys...! Now, leave me alone while the neighbor's wife is over here...
  20. Why? You looking to cheat on someone, you filthy animal...? In your dreams, pal. Dafuq you care?
  21. But not faithful, huh?
  22. Excellent thinking! I was just thinking the same thing. Although, there is a bottle of Willam Larue Weller that requires my attention at The Rattlesnake Bar. Haven't killed it yet. It's an ongoing project.
  23. Doing some anniversararying this weekend. Gonna wander over the Ritz for dinner at Fearing's (love that guy!). Not gonna bother walking home. Get in some pool time on Saturday, do a wine tasting with Paul Botamer (love that guy, too!), and then...random shenanigans, I guess. Not planning on staggering back home until Sunday, and then we're gonna repack and I will join my girl on the road for a short work-trip just because I can. It just occurred to me that I did not plan Saturday dinner. Shit.
  24. Used The Parking Spot for years. Never had a problem, plus you'll build up points for free days.
