When my daughter was in high school, she had a couple of friends with parents that didn't allow snapchat. They just delete the app and redownload it daily.
I have a similar slotting with mine. Youngest has the requisite discipline and smarts for anywhere but we'll see. He's not even in high school yet. Oldest Graduated from Texas last year and is in grad school. Middle? Didn't even try to apply to Texas. She had a 3.9 but rankings killed her, aggy wasn't an option for her (her decision, but she did get in) so she is at Alabama on a nice scholarship having the time of her life.
This can't be overstated. In the case of Texas, when the top recruits in your own state keep telling you they want to play in, and then go to the SEC, you better adjust or you're going to get left behind.
Most of the good restaurants and bars are near the strip aka the “entertainment district”. You can walk around with open containers and leave the restaurant with a drink so long as you stay in that area. My wife like this quirky little dive called Nocturnal Tavern, it’s near Rhythm and a few other bars. It’s a little hard I find but the locals will point you in the right direction.
Our daughter goes to Alabama so we are well acquainted with overpriced game weekend rooms. The best western is an absolute, mold infested shithole and you'll be lucky to get a room there for 3 figures/night.
There is a cool hotel near Birmingham we often stay in on these occasions, Ross Bridge. A very nice golf course. About 45-50 minutes to Tuscaloosa, except the traffic on I20 will be stupid on the way back after the game. I think my wife booked our room last fall at Springhill Suites
We need a One Fund/HWH Kiosk on San Jacinto on game day. Buy your $100 dollar koozie or t-shirts that says "I put my money where my mouth is, what about you?" or something much more clever.
That’s what Jadaveon Clowney did, if I remember correctly. I also seem to recollect that by him not signing and waiting till summer cost him some interest from a few of the schools that were originally courting him.
