Adding to my post:
Hye Meadow is open (was out there a couple of weeks ago, and their Twitter page says they are officially open). Nice wines, great people. Great backyard area behind the testing room

Stopped by Interstellar today. Didn’t post pics because it looks like the other Interstellar posts I’ve done. It was great, as always. I did finally try the “frito pie” sausage today. I won’t skip that again
ATX Cocina has their to go setup done finally. Got it last night. Menu is slimmed down, but the food was great. Margarita kit was excellent — $40, makes 6 margaritas (and before you say it, I know I could get that for less at a liquor store, but the point is supporting the restaurants). Also have free margaritas outside when you stop to get the food
They are open for retail purchases (if they choose to do so). Some of them will quietly allow you to sit out back.
As I read the new May 1 rules, they can do “quick tastings,” whatever that means.
Interesting. We had a trip booked to France and Italy (were supposed to be there now) that we canceled. Looking (maybe) to go back in October, though that obviously may not happen. I've checked fares a couple of times, and they have not gone down a bit for the same flights in October from the amount we had paid. I thought they would be trying to book seats, but they aren't cutting prices yet, at least for these flights. Haven't increased in price, but certainly no decrease.
On local v. Non-local: we’ve generally tried to support the locally-owned places, but have also done “non-local.” One place in particular we’ve gone for years, know the servers, etc. The people that work there are “local” regardless of where corporate HQ is.
That’s pretty disappointing. Lots of restaurants offering real value for the prices. I’d rather support those type of places, and tip well (which is what we have been doing).
