Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
It is pretty insane how quickly things have gone sideways on Sark. That game felt like the Arkansas game in 2021, which is an order of magnitude less acceptable in year 5 than it is in year 1. It reeks of hubris and confirmation bias.

I’ve also noticed the oddly paradoxical way that Flood’s ‘large humans’ end up being mere screeners. It feels like based on how he apparently coaches them up or selects by temperament that he’d be better served going after the smaller more nimble guys that grow into their frame like Sam Cosmi.

I think he best fits the Jaydon Blue role out of the current backs. He looked better out in space on swing passes.

Frankly Satya has been right about a lot of the problems with the roster that everyone castigated and belittled him for

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
This is all just made up, old school nonsense that has been debunked.

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
After a rewatch of the game (I’m a masochist I guess) what struck me outside of Arch’s ineptitude was just how many plays one or more of the OL or TEs block absolutely nobody. On pulls, on kick outs, on regular ol inside zone, they manage to find nothing to do. How is that possible? Unsurprisingly the main culprits were Stroh and Hutson.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Or the play he threw the pick one, a roll out with a quick throw to Livingstone in the flat that he turned down

Ok it’s just Palo Duro sized then

Remember when people said Sark was the QB whisperer?

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
there is a Grand Canyon sized chasm between God of Football and where he is now. He is likely the worst starter on the roster right now.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
I'm not sure that Caldwell would be any better than Arch, but I am sure he wouldn't be any worse...

Charlie Kirk Assassinated [Shooter in custody]
The only coherent logic I could see for him being a groyper is if he hated Kirk for supporting Israel. Of course, these terminally online, irony poisoned, “did it for the lulz” types aren’t really concerned with logical consistency

Charlie Kirk Assassinated [Shooter in custody]
Best I can tell there is not enough evidence to say he is either a groyper or a leftist yet. The information is too contradictory thus far.

Hasan Piker. Not as big, but tapped into the younger left.

yeah, perhaps Stroh was always supposed to let his man beat him across his face while he fell on the ground. Just like coach drew it up!

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
My biggest concern is there seems to be an across the board lack of attention to detail on offense. It is hard to say what is causing it at each specific individual, but when it is happening across position groups it becomes a worrying trend. QBs with inconsistent throwing motions, OL taking bad steps and not knowing how to handle basic stunts, WRs running banana routes and dropping the ball, RBs fumbling and missing the right gap, TEs not kicking out the right edge defender, etc. I think it points to Sark not being able to juggle both the duties of offensive coordinator and head coach simultaneously. Perhaps there is just too much for him to do to ensure the quality is there across the side of the ball he takes the lead on.

I know you said you won't go through box scores, so you'll just have to trust me then that we have not been good against teams in the top 50 of rushing defense for the Sark/Flood tenure

still with that schtick, eh?

Pass blocking yes, I disagree on run blocking though. Against most of the better teams on our schedule the last 4 years we've struggled to run the ball at even an average level

I'm getting there too. Especially when the same issues have been persistent across his tenure: IOL losing track of blitzers and stunts, pullers not finding the right guy, lots of false starts and holding. Those have been a theme year after year regardless of experience level. I will say though, after a rewatch the biggest culprit for the run game being blown up a lot was terrible execution by the TEs. The OL did their job on a good 5-10 of the runs that got stuffed, it was just a TE either totally missing a block or getting thrown into the hole the RB was trying to hit. Not sure there is any benefit to going big in 12 or 13 personnel if they can't win against SJSU edges...

well, its a lot easier to enjoy wins when it doesn't feel like your team is punching themselves in their own balls repeatedly
