In all seriousness, its not that farfetched. Although the GOP is Trump's party now, they'll of course thrown him under the bus when it becomes politically expedient to do so. Depending on what comes out from this investigation (combined with Trump's ongoing raving lunacy) it could start with the HIC in a "bipartisan" effort
Has nobody posted this yet? Initial reports make it sound like a mental health/ptsd issue

Posted in the Trump thread and I was sent over here. I've been thinking about an ideal democratic candidate. I think its someone from the military with a strong personality that can effectively call out Trump's bullshit. Like a McRaven. Someone who's integrity and dignity starkly contrast to Trump's childish/evil antics. The military angle & Washington outsider-ness should bring back at least some of the rednecks from the edge of the abyss.
If that person does not exist, maybe there's hope for Hickenlooper and the idea of an R as a running mate.
I can't find a 2020 presidential elections thread, and sorry if this has been posted already, but I've been thinking about an ideal democratic candidate. Do you think Beto asked to be called that in order to run for political office in Texas? As if trying to convert a red state to blue would be EASIER with a Mexican-sounding name?
This is unfortunately correct and I can confirm that most of the mountain west loves Trump simply because they hate all politicians, think Trump is a "businessman" and think he is actually draining the swamp. No amount of facts or reality changes that, because at core most people are either conservative or liberal and the last thing any cowboys want to be is a liberal.
Exactly this. My first D vote ever -- and because of Trump/Cruz and the rest of the current shitbird R's, it was the first vote I've ever really been excited about
Edit -- forgot I voted for Obama too, but sort of held my nose at the time
