- Shooting at Austin protest tonight, 1 dead
I can’t reveal my source, but it’s solid. The driver is not a cop.- Shooting at Austin protest tonight, 1 dead
https://www.pscp.tv/w/1vOGwkPVjBdGB Click on that link to hear Manley’s version of events. Both people who fired their weapons, the driver and the bystander, have been released, pending further investigation. Both are CHL holders. The driver claimed that Foster pointed the AK at him. Driver pulled over and called 911 after the shooting.- Shooting at Austin protest tonight, 1 dead
Here’s what I was referring to earlier from FB...- Shooting at Austin protest tonight, 1 dead
I’m not on Facebook so I can’t link to it, but there’s a discussion going on in the comments on Foster’s page. A guy claiming to be a “medic” and part of an armed group says he fired the last three shots at the car as it drove away.- Shooting at Austin protest tonight, 1 dead
Nevermind- The Guitar Pron Thread
I went into Guitar Center this past week to pick up a drum head and noticed that their wall of used guitars was almost bare. The guy working the register said it’s because very few people are coming into the store to buy new guitars so they’re not getting many trade-ins. It was the quietest GC I’ve ever been in. There was no soloing going on.- The Guitar Pron Thread
I’ve been laying relatively low the past few months as far as buying and selling on CL, mostly cuz I’ve been trying to minimize exposure. But I’m still on there all the time, browsing out of curiosity and habit. I’ll mask up and drive across town if it’s a deal I just can’t pass up, but it feels like there’s been fewer of those killer deals the past few months. Pre-Covid, I would usually see a decent amount of MIM Fenders in the $300-350 range, and I’m not seeing a lot of those right now. My luthier mentioned to me the other day that he’s got a lot of work. Said people tend to buy fewer new guitars during economic uncertainty and instead focus on repairing or improving the gear they already have. Not sure if the numbers really prove that or if it’s just anecdotal. If any of y’all are ever looking for a specific used guitar, just let me know and I’ll keep an eye out. For example, I’m currently looking for a well-priced black Japanese Jaguar with humbuckers and matching black headstock for a friend of mine.- The Guitar Pron Thread
I have a friend who works at a local music gear rental store that is also a Fender dealer. You can buy their used gear, which is often lightly used. (Parents rent a Strat for a kid instead of buying one, bring it back two years later cuz it sat in the corner.) I checked with him and they have two low mileage MIM Strats in stock priced at $450, but they’ll come down to $400. One is red with maple fretboard, white guard. The other is a 2016 Lake Placid Blue with rosewood/pau ferro fretboard, white guard. Not sure on the year of the red one, but probably around the same year. Just let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send the details.- Fitlump fucking won a Austin City Council seat, Now on to Congress 2026!
The Chronicle just published some info on the council races and the cash that the candidates have raised. https://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2020-07-24/as-council-campaigns-begin-the-cash-rolls-in/ “In far Northwest Austin's D6, likely the most conservative Council district, a semi-famous right-wing challenger to unabashed progressive Jimmy Flannigan would seem like a threat. But so far, fundraising doesn't support that idea; Flannigan raised $68,154 and has $60,057 in available cash as the race heats up. His colleagues Natasha Harper-Madison, Paige Ellis, and Ann Kitchen all contributed, along with former CMs Betty Dunkerley and Chris Riley. Planning Commissioners Conor Kenny and Fayez Kazi, along with urbanist advocate Dan Keshet, also contributed, reflecting Flannigan's alignment with urbanists despite representing a mostly suburban district. State Rep. John Bucy, who represents the Williamson County portion of Flannigan's council district, also donated. Flannigan challenger Mackenzie Kelly, who ran for D6 in the great 10-1 Blitz of 2014 (she finished fifth in a six-way race), has pulled in just $19,056, although she only appointed a treasurer in early May. In 2014, Kelly gained national notoriety for her support of Gamergate – the online harassment campaign waged by mostly white males against women in the industry. This time, she's focusing on homelessness, where she's been a constant critic of the Council. Now that Save Austin Now's initiative to roll back Council's decriminalization efforts may end up on the November ballot, Kelly's campaign could gain some steam. Her fellow Council critics Susan Spataro and Sharon Blythe have contributed, along with Don Zimmerman, who narrowly beat Flannigan in that 2014 race but lost the rematch in 2016. (He actually did run in the SD 14 special election, placing third, after also placing third in March's GOP primary for House District 47.)”- AISD's (and other districts) Plans for Schools Starting August 18
I agree. The numbers show that kids are testing positive at much lower rates than adults, but they make up a third of the cases in Texas daycares. Kids and teachers are gonna catch it and spread it if you put them in a building.- AISD's (and other districts) Plans for Schools Starting August 18
I have the same question. As of last Thursday, HHS had been notified of 2,263 reported positive cases in child care facilities. 1,528 staff and 735 children. I haven’t seen this week's numbers.- GLORIA

Is your thermostat still showing weird temperature readings? The other thing to check is to make sure that your AC drain line isn’t clogged. If it’s clogged and water backs up near your evaporator coil, it can cause parts of your system to shut down.- Hey it's Summer of course I have an AC problem
You can swap the capacitor yourself. It’s usually located under a panel attached by screws on the outside unit. Once you find the capacitor, you’ll need to find a local AC repair store that sells to the public. Many of them only sell to licensed repair guys. Call first to make sure they have the part and will sell it to you.- Donald Trump 2020
I’m a big Television fan, and they were before my time too. Don’t know how old you are and misread your post, thought you meant you actually saw them. Sorry for the derail.- Donald Trump 2020
I’d like to hear about seeing Television. Details please.- The Guitar Pron Thread
The Squier Vintage Modified was discontinued last year as the Classic Vibe line was expanded. If you want a specific VM bass, your best bet is finding a used one. If you want a new bass, Sweetwater shows 23 different Classic Vibe basses to choose from. I like most of the 60s models, some of the 50s. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=squier+classic+vibe+bass I don’t currently own any Classic Vibes, but I think I’ve owned three of the CV basses in the past and all of them were great basses for the money.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2021
SIAP Should be happening soon.- The Guitar Pron Thread
How does this bass sound? And while we’re discussing straps, that is the perfect strap for this guitar. And a little known fact: The voice of Jem was performed by Britta Phillips, who is the bass player for Luna.- The Guitar Pron Thread

He hasn’t endorsed her (yet), but he does frequently “like” her tweets including the one announcing the Leffingwell endorsement and this recent one here... Morrow’s Twitter is an interesting mix of conspiracy theories (Trump-Clinton-Epstein pedo ring!) and soft core porn with a little bit of libertarianism sprinkled in. I’ve wondered if this is a parody account, but I think it’s actually Morrow. Here’s a tweet from this evening. - Donald Trump 2020
