2025 CFB Polls/Rankings Thead
These people haven't a clue on what they're watching. Proof in that #5 won the National title last year and #10 was the runner up this year.

Games I wish we would schedule, solely for the road trip
My away game wishlist: Penn St - that area of Pennsylvania seems so interesting to me. And Beaver Stadium looks like a fun experience. Utah - my mom's side of family is all Utah alumni. Season tickets and the RES (Rice-Eccles) is a great time. Need to get with them on their thievery though. Oregon - these fuckers seem to have our number. Autzen looks cool. Nebraska - cause upsetting these corn cob eating mother fuckers is glorious. Syracuse - that area of NY looks cool and playing in the carrier dome would be cool.

This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
I was watching a little clip the other day with some old school coach, I can't remember who it was? I think it was the Army coach from back in the day? Which makes this part fitting. He basically said: "football is the closest thing to an actual battle that there is. You have your ground forces and your air forces and they both complement each other. When we have everyone committed and knowing their role on both of those philosophies we're basically unbeatable." The philosophy was basically taking ground with the running game and how relentlessly attacking with it will eventually lead to the lines breaking. If the defense is fortified in the middle, out flank them running outside. And use it to take ground rather than trying to score. That means having all 11 committed to taking ground (WRs blocking, everyone hitting a man, nobody is watching the play) Then using the passing game like a bombing run to soften the defense to make gaining ground easier. It was very interesting and makes a lot of sense. TLDR: Sark isn't committed enough to the running game.

SEC Catch-all Thread
Based. Some Texas fans still wear the identity of “fuck the SEC” as a badge of honor. The narrative of the SEC always being the best isn’t true, but neither is the SEC is overrated. What many here will refuse to admit is when A&M left for the SEC it was a Trojan horse to Texas in regard to recruiting. When they hit success right out of the gate and other teams like Georgia and LSU rose up with Alabama we were left chasing our tails for a little over a decade. Oklahoma was able to be the prettiest midget but as soon as they faced real competition they were destroyed. I’m with you on collective narratives being advantageous to your program. The SEC was quickly able to capitalize on being the conference with the most fierce competition and NFL ready players. This opened the flood gates to every blue chip recruit in the nation. Kids in LA that were historically USC locks were all the sudden going to Alabama. Kids that Texas would offer on junior day back in the 2000s that were enamored by the Longhorn logo were all in on Saban or LSU. Texas had their multi-million dollar network but was stuck in a conference with one true competitor that found itself wandering around blind and crippled losing to tiny Texas private schools and getting dominated by a redneck mullet wearing coach at Oklahoma’s JV program. Staying pat in the Big 12 was killing Texas’ program.

Texas Roster 2026
The problem permeates by other programs willing to overpay for unproven results. No idea what Wisner was able to fleece out of Florida St, but that’s a RB that has yet to crack 700 yards in a season demanding top end pay and desperate coaches/programs paying it….. it’s dumb. To prioritize HS we’ve somehow got to lock in multi year deals.
