Don't forget Russell Wilson last year. Wilson and Rodgers were nothing more than guys towards the end of their careers to be band-aids while they figure out their future at the QB position. It reminds me of what Dallas went through when Aikman retired before they landed on Romo. Wilson and Rodgers were kind of like Testaverde and Bledsoe back to back year. Justin Fields was Quincy Carter (no racist). But Dallas did have a lot more junk being trotted out there than Pitt but the same conecpt/approach. Neither franchise knew what to do once their franchise QB left.- Dumbass Shit We See On Facebook

It was definitely time. Being in NFL Purgatory is the worst. Not good enough to really contend, not bad enough to bottom out to retool in the draft. Seemed he was just hanging his hat on not having a losing season. Which is cool but it was just breeding mediocrity, which is what Pitt has been for years. This was definitely mutual. Tomlin didn't want the label of being fired and the Pitt organization didn't want to say they fired their coach. Since Ben R retired, their QB situation has been a mess, which is a big cause of their mediocrity.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
Essay Patna is back!! "The Official Record: Texas A&M’s 3 National Championships Understand that this isnt a debate. This is not an opinion. These titles are documented in the NCAA Record Books. Your best argument of why they’re fake isnt going to take them out of existence or the records. For those who have no intention of reading this entire deep dive and simply want to verify the facts for themselves, here is how you access the official data. This is not a matter of opinion, a "claim," or a debate; it is a matter of documented history by the governing body of the sport. How to verify the NCAA Record: 1. Go to NCAA.org and search for the "NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) Records" book (the official annual PDF). 2. Navigate to the section titled "National Champion Major Selectors." 3. You will find Texas A&M officially recorded as a National Champion in 1919 and 1939 in the primary selector tables. 4. Continue to the next section (typically the next page) to find the 1927 title awarded by the Sagarin Ratings. If you disagree with these titles, your argument is not with Texas A&M; it is with the official historical record-keeping of the NCAA. Understanding the Historical Fact of Texas A&M’s National Championships In the world of college football, the title of "National Champion" is often debated as if it were a matter of opinion. However, there is a definitive source of truth for the sport: the NCAA FBS Records Book. This official governing document does not "crown" a single winner, but it does certify Major Selectors—the mathematical, research, and polling systems deemed legitimate for recording the history of the game. According to the official NCAA record, Texas A&M is a three-time National Champion. To understand these titles is to understand the evolution of the sport itself. The "AP Poll" Myth A common misconception is that a championship only "counts" if it was awarded by the Associated Press. This logic is historically flawed. The AP Poll did not exist until 1936. If one were to disregard titles prior to the AP era, they would effectively be deleting the first 67 years of college football history—including the foundational championships of almost every major "blue-blood" program in America. The NCAA addresses this by recognizing "Major Selectors" for the pre-poll and split-poll eras. Texas A&M’s titles are not "claims"; they are entries in the official record book based on these certified selectors. 1. 1919: The "Invincible" Season * Record: 10–0–0 * Defense: 0 Points Allowed (Outscored opponents 275–0) * NCAA Major Selectors: Billingsley Report, National Championship Foundation The 1919 Aggies produced what is arguably the most dominant defensive season in history, finishing the entire year without allowing a single point. The NCAA recognizes the Billingsley Report and the National Championship Foundation as the official selectors for this year. 2. 1927: The Scientific Standard * Record: 8–0–1 * NCAA Major Selector: Sagarin Ratings The 1927 title is documented in the Mathematical/Computer Selectors section of the NCAA record book. This recognition comes from Jeff Sagarin—a name modern fans know from his decades of work with the BCS and major sports networks. When the 1927 season is analyzed through these certified scientific models, Texas A&M is the team that comes out on top. 3. 1939: The Consensus #1 * Record: 11–0–0 * Post-Season: Sugar Bowl Champions * NCAA Major Selector: The Associated Press (AP Poll) The 1939 championship is undisputed. In the fourth year of the AP Poll’s existence, the Aggies finished the season as the consensus #1 team in the country. This was a "Poll Era" title earned on the field and verified by the writers' ballots, capped off by a victory over #5 Tulane in the Sugar Bowl. Fact vs. Folklore Much has been made of the fact that Texas A&M updated its stadium branding in 2012 to display these championships. Critics often mistake this "branding update" for a "creation of history." The truth is found on page 112 (and throughout the National Champions section) of the official NCAA FBS Records Book. The university did not invent these titles in 2012; they simply chose to formally recognize the history that the NCAA had already archived for nearly a century. The Final Word Texas A&M’s three stars represent three distinct moments where the program reached the pinnacle of college football. Whether measured by the "Zero-Point Defense" of 1919, the mathematical models of 1927, or the consensus AP Poll of 1939, the record remains the same. * A National Championship is not a claim; it is a recorded fact. And the record is clear: Texas A&M is a three-time National Champion. Now Watch how fast this goes from “they’re fake” to “look how old they are”. 😏 And the top comments of that post:- Dumbass Shit We See On Facebook

I'd say that's true if the QB competition left in the AFC was better. With Houston's defense, they can smother any of the offenses left and allow Houston's offense have room for error. I'd imagine NE won't be as bad as Pitt was but if you watched them on SNF against LA, their offense wasn't anything to write home about, either.- AFC Wild Card: Texans at Steelers on ABC/ESPN
AFC is about as wide open as we have seen since Brady/Manning started their reign in the early 2000s. Your #1 seed is led by Bo Bix and Sean Payton. Your #2 seed is Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel. The #3 seed choked at the end. The #4 seed might have been the worst team to ever enter the playoffs. For Josh Allen to finally get to the next level, this is the year. For Houston, who have never made it past the divisional round as the Texans, this is also the year. Not one QB and offense left they should fear. Also, this isn't the old days of fearing going on the road to face Belichik/Brady in NE. Or going into Denver to face Peyton Manning. I think both road teams in the AFC this coming weekend are the better team than the home teams. Someone mentioned 2015 Denver as a comparison to this Houston team and I agree. Peyton was awful those playoffs but they didn't need him to be great. Stroud was awful last night but it didn't matter.- AFC Wild Card: Texans at Steelers on ABC/ESPN
Steelers, sure. Houston? Nah. Steelers are easily the worst team in this playoffs.- Dumbass Shit We See On Facebook
