Classic Car thread
Well shit, I'm torn. I'm a month or so away from either installing a Classic Air system or passing. Since it's summer I'm leaning A/C, but then I think nah, I'll probably just be driving on weekend mornings anyway ... flip of the coin.

Dedicated Stranger Things Series Thread
I did too. I get the nostalgia. But in Season 3 I found myself bored after saying "Hey, Sam Goody!" over and over. Last few episodes were fun though. My daughter only cares bout the Mike and Elle relationship. The rest is meaningless to her, though she does like Hopper (as we all do).

Dedicated Stranger Things Series Thread
Just finished Season 3; the traction this show has is mind bottling. I loved Season 1 because of the nostalgia production and unique story. Season 2 kind of the same, but dropped off a bit. But now we are into Season 3 with a full on Russian military base under Indiana, with kids zipping around undetected or outsmarting those nasty Russkies? I can suspend disbelief to get into a show easy, but this one just seemed like an 80's nostalgia trip with some cardboard villains (Russian general, Terminator) and teen relationship awkwardness thrown in for good measure. Fuck, what I know, my 13 year old daughter is obsessed with the show. She watched it from 12 midnight to 6 am as soon as it dropped. They've done a great job assembling a teenage group of kids doing extraordinary things, while trying to figure out relationships, etc. Tapping into the whole Spielberg thing, fine, it works, I get it. But as a (sometimes) adult I don't get how the show has tapped into other adults to the point of some of the glowing posts on this thread.

Europe: off-the beaten-path with kids
Week on a catamaran in Croatia. Really cool trip. Random photos, we went to Vis, Brac, Hvar and ended trip at Krka Falls.

Europe: off-the beaten-path with kids
We recently returned from AMS after week and half in Croatia. Whole family loved it. Really cool city, I was there 25 years ago and forgot how awesome it is. We did the boat tour also and saw a bunch of cool houseboats, everyone hanging out on the decks, drinking wine and waving as we went by. Our captain pointed out a couple of smashed windows on the boats and said "See this? Tourists who rent boats and can't drive!" I assume you got your Anne Frank tickets two months in advance. I did not, and tried day of at 9 am online (actually queued at 8 am). The online system refreshed a bunch and kicked me out, but I finally locked in, started moving up from 400 to 300, to 200, to 100, to 30 ... to 15 at 8:59! We're in! And then it refreshed and I went back to over 1000. I reflexively yelled MOTHERFUCKER at my phone, which caused the breakfast crowd in the cafe to swivel in unison at the obnoxious American.

What are your favorite movie quotes?
- when is my show coming back?
The billboards are going up. I know SJP gets the horse treatment, but she's been pretty hot for a good portion of her life (mostly body). I look at this at think, JFC, can't they find a make up artist to not make her look like an alien? She had a good run, help her out a little as she ages.- name drop a possibly forgotten favorite player from your childhood

Dan Fouts and Kellen Winslow (Senior)- OJ Simpson has died
I walked past some homeless dude the other day. Out of the blue he said, "Who's the best Los Angeles Dodger of all time?" I ignored him and kept walking. "OJ Simpson !" he yelled. I kind of shook my head and chalked it up to homeless, kept walking. He followed that up with "He dodged shit like a motherfucker!" Touche.- The movie you just watched
I caught Risky Business yesterday. Random thoughts: - Perfect 80s time capsule that stands up to time. Still highly entertaining. - Had to check the credits after, had some Michael Mann touches in it. - With the subject matter, I don't think they could make it today. Even if they did, know one would believe you could throw a party like that on the North shore of Chicago without the cops being called in 5 seconds. - The hookers at the party all looked like they stepped out of a Nagel print - I would've given a good chunk of my college tuition for a session with Rebecca DeMornay - Got me to research vintage 928 values. Might be a future project.- The New Car Fanatic Thread
Might want to up your music game if you're cruising around in Sport Plus. *just kidding. kind of- The New Car Fanatic Thread
Yeah I'm a dumbass. Need to be moving to actually reset. X6 50 getting 14 in city lead foot driving. Still recommend the vehicle, still surprised how quickly I have to refuel.- The New Car Fanatic Thread
Yeah, but G650s 20 blows me away. On board computer needs some investigation, maybe a reset.- The New Car Fanatic Thread
I was getting 18 in my M4. So when I saw 9 in the V8 X6 I just chalked it up to the difference between a turbo 6 and 8. Not happy about it, but enjoyment of the car moves me on. Knowing this before might have lured me away to another badge though.- The New Car Fanatic Thread
Yeah, it was pretty shocking. It's all city driving and I also have a lead foot. I just assumed it was due to the V8.- The New Car Fanatic Thread
We have an X6 50 and are happy with it. It's fast as hell in sport mode, so much so that I thought I was going to roll it a couple of times in tight corners - forgot I was sitting so high. PSA the 50 gets terrible gas mileage. Right now we're at 9 mpg when not driving in Sport. Yes, 9. Only knock on the car. The X5 was reengineered for 2019 IIRC, while the 6 wasn't, and the reviews are great.- Donald Trump 2019

I was a lifeguard at the old park. Best shape I've ever been in my life. Day after day of pulling fat asses in tubes out of the dead section of the turns, and pushing them down as hard as possible.- IT'S ROBOT FIGHTING TIME!!!!!! Battlebots 2019
Our family loves this show too. Just noticed it's already set for record from last season so we'll be watching soon. Some of the engineering is really fascinating. It seems like the best combination of low leverage and brute power usually wins. I laugh at the guys that have flying assholes to help the main robot, shooting fire, etc. They do nothing but look absolutely silly. And I love it.- Hut's finally closing
I have vague memories of really liking a fish and chips place called Zeider Zee or something when I was really young. Also the original Iron Works had an all you can eat deal for lunch. We'd load up and not be able to eat even a thin mint for 24-48 hours. Shit, just Googled Threadgill's and see that it's closed also. Had a good chicken fried there in the mid 80's.- Wives and the Stupid Shit They Say/Do
Not sure, I'll ask her. That's a good question to show that I'm interested and engaged in her inventions. - when is my show coming back?
