Texas baseball should be at the very top every year for NIL, and be equipped to handle any type of recruitment. A high powered NIL machine at University of Texas for baseball would be really hard to beat.
Yeah, it’s a great avenue for guys that could play D1 but need some work. They can play immediately at JUCO, which is why the guy I knew chose JUCO. He needed live reps show off his true potential and that wasn’t going to be there at a D1. I have a ton of respect JUCO guys for the amount of sacrifices they make.
Yep. Knew of a guy that decided to go the JUCO route. When to Ranger, TX where there is absolutely nothing to do but play baseball. He ended up going to a D1 after his sophomore year.
That movie, Four Christmases, isn’t so bad and Duvall is fine in it. I don’t really turn my brain on when it’s on tv. The scenes where they go to Duvall’s house to open presents and install the satellite is one of the best parts.
Is McLaren the only competitive team he can race for next year? He was more competitive with Renault than he is now with McLaren. McLaren needs to figure something out with Danny if they want to be competitive next year because right now he’s simply not producing. I agree, the smart choice for Danny is to stay and try to push through and figure it out but I could also see him wanting to make a move somewhere else. That may not even be possible though.
Yep, that’s what I’ve seen as well. With the way it’s been with McLaren I don’t believe he’ll want to come back. You can see he’s not having a good time through that smile, which must be killing him. I just don’t understand why it’s not been better with him when the car has been fine. Even though it was rough at the beginning, Danny really started to get it in gear with Renault towards the end with ‘20 finishing fifth in points. Where did that driver go? The downhill turn seemed to quick in ‘21 with McLaren.
To your other point, I can see that. But I haven’t been following F1 long enough to know what drivers do once they start to go downhill and look for other options.
I’m just now seeing that Danny’s DRS was stuck in the open position and he had to pit so they could manually fix it to where he could no longer use it because they feared it would get stuck again. Also had 2 pits longer than 4 seconds. McLaren is not helping Danny at all even though there’s enough blame for both sides, and because of this I think there’s a zero percent chance Danny comes back with McLaren next year.
Right, I always viewed Texas the same way. Never thought of us as a villain, just a well respected and successful program that everyone try’s really hard to beat. Football may be a little different though.
