A farewell to Dairy Queens
We are seeing new DQ in the OKC metro. They are all franchises owned by the same dude. Nonetheless, good to know I can get a Blizzard any time.

Brain lock on my part. You are absolutely right.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Same with Vandy. It’s def a weird pattern. I’m not smart enough to know why, though I do believe the RPO and screen emphasis make any QB in this system susceptible to more tipped balls by DL and to LBs getting into lanes.

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Main difference: Ark played a ton of 3-high, Iowa-state style D against us. They played much more mixed against Ole Miss: some of the 3-high, but also some man free (1 safety high, man everywhere else) and a lot more 2-high. The 3-high is Sark’s kryptonite and his main way to beat it is running out of 12 personnel (or in 2022 against ISU, even 3 TEs). Ole Miss punished the 2-high and man coverage. The other thing relevant to Quinn is that Dart will take chances—early in the game against Ark, he threw into tight windows or against some decent man coverage on go routes and just made good throws. Sark’s offense is designed to produce wide open shots. Watch for contested throws/catches some time—we get the occasional like Golden’s TD catch on the sprint out, but Quinn does not test windows very often, and Sark has appeared to coach him not to. Dart may throw some more INTs than Quinn, but he also gets the payoff when he fits into some tight windows. Also, Ark had at least one major coverage bust against Ole Miss but none against us (or none we made them pay for). My $0.02.

Most likely. At any rate, what have we seen from Venables that suggests he can make a good hire? I mean, he could get lucky but he doesn’t seem to know how to hire an offensive staff at all.

Not arguing—I’m constitutionally incapable of conflict—just wanted to say thanks for providing a helpful qualification to my “yes.”

I think my point when I asked was that they don’t really wear lower body pads any more even in games (or just thigh pads), so in fall camp when it’s shoulder pads and helmets only, how’s that different than the games? Anyway, somebody explained that the players call those days “Winnie the Pooh” because they truly just wear shorts with shoulder pads/helmets.

Yes. Also, don’t sweat asking this. Back in the summer I asked if shoulder pads only actually meant shoulder pads only. Someone humored me.

Official Coach Sark Thread of Dominance—haters back off
What I love about the guy is he will have the opp defense dialed in about 2-3 series. So even if their D has a good game plan, this mofo will adapt quickly, and he has the personnel to do it. (Contrast with game against TCU in 2022 where QB and o-line limited him.) Such a contrast with Mack, Herman and their OCs (Strong didn’t even have game plans)…dude is out there like a savant just diagnosing the other D in about 10-12 plays.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2025: Duck Around and Find Out
On the IT YouTube today with Wells he suggested the opposite—that Sanchez has been committed to OSU forever and it’s highly unlikely, but Sark wants to shoot his shot.

Texas vs. Mississippi State - 3:15pm on SEC Network
Scipio Tex has said a big difference between this year’s D and last year’s is that a lot of last year’s was driven by individual dudes making plays, whereas this year’s is coherent, cohesive, connected at all three levels, whatever co- word you prefer. As successful as the outcome and results were, and things still did largely seem cohesive, today was the first game where some individual efforts really made the difference vs a systematic effort. Simmons stands out, the VB strip sack, Jahdae on a couple pass break ups. There was also some poor technique that got taken advantage of. Everybody’s favorite badass Anthony Hill parted the sea for the TD on his blitz; Simmons got upfield a time or tea and then didn’t play the puller correctly a time or two. Anyway, lots to correct there. Overall feels great to win a game by 3 TDs at about 60% capacity of the team.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
That’s a great point. (No sarcasm) I wonder how I’d feel if Brando/Tillman were switched with Meyers/Lapham for those old games. guess we’ll never know
