Grew up in Houston and I've lived in Austin for the past decade. I don't have a "country" bone in my body. Liberal utopia isn't coming. Gun control and raising taxes will be the end of any Democrat running. Edit: My last post on the CA/TX debate.
  2. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/politics/fl-ne-brenda-snipes-resigns-20181118-story.html Brenda Snipes submits resignation as Broward elections supervisor. Bye bye. She was making 12k a month for that job. Unbelievable.

All is well in California for the middle class. The insane housing market, high taxes, high cost of living, and homeless crisis are totally worth it (roughly a 1/4 of the homeless population live in CA). Looks like we'll all agree to disagree then.

It's expensive because the state keeps raising taxes like how they just raised gas prices 40%. The high cost of living, including housing, is without a doubt the most important issue in CA and it's pushing the middle class out. I don't buy the idea of affordable housing developments happening at all. Texas will not be like California no matter how woke you think you are about this. That's just absurd. California is an example of what NOT to do. It's saving grace is the weather while on the coast but then you have the earthquakes and wildfires. Fuck that.

If you don't think there's a mass exodus from California to Texas because of how ridiculous it is living over there then we can go ahead and agree to disagree.

  7. Still got the SC and Senate.

It doesn't make a lot of sense for a person who left a top democratic state to keep voting blue if they didn't like where the state was headed. Democrats will not have another Beto in Texas and the Republicans will push a more appealing candidate next election. Beto really was the left's best chance of flipping Texas.

You won't even answer my question. Smart move, actually.

Why do you think so many people are moving OUT of California to Texas? No one wants to be in a welfare state and have homeless camps where drug use is rampant. The housing cost and taxes are insane over there.

Never going to happen. Do you think California is painted in a positive light?
  12. Vein replied to Washpark's topic in Cloak Room
That may be the wishful thinking. People can't stand Cruz and he still won. Beto had charisma working well for him but who can the democrats put out that can be that appealing? I don't think it was Beto's policy that made him that popular.
