Thanks, watched it three times. As someone else said the best part is getting out and saying I fucking hate you followed by the realization he did it to himself. I think I'd be willing to let him try. Fire it up, suit him up like his AI video or trading card. Tell him it's loaded with ani-antifa weapons for him to deliver to Minnesota and send him down the runway. Better yet, make it an F-18 carrier launch like in Top Gun.
This could erode our spending power when we go in June. I always flip it because it's easier to do the math but now 1 Euro is worth about $1.20 so every 5 Euros = $6, every 100 Euros = $120, etc. That way when your wife or kids say, can I buy this (insert thing here) they can see the price in dollars easier.
The weakening dollar is getting to where it will impact my vacation to Europe as exchange rates continue lower. Down over 14% in the last year. Gone from 1 Euro equal to $1.04 to now $1.19. Edit: First world problems
2025 in Review My target is to average 6-8% growth per year. 2025 portfolio growth was 23%. 2 year growth was 53% and 3 year running average is 27%. My portfolio currently doubles about every 5 years for an effective growth rate of 14.4% I'm at the point that contributions don't move the needle much and just getting the snowball effect. Going forward I have one in college now, another starting in fall 2027 and the last one would start in 2032. I have started using some of my non retirement savings and deferred compensation for college expenses an still have the overall growth. I may start slowing my aggressive contributions to enjoy travel with my family. I'll still take advantage of IRA matching, ESPP, and HSA savings. I always assumed I would retire between 65 and 70 but I started looking into earlier and I think I'll be able to retire in 5.5 years at 62 even with a HS Senior still to go. (If my portfolio doubles again in that 5.5 years we will be golden - not counting on it but it has been consistent so far). I have a target asset number that if I can get there my portfolio can act as an annuity where I can live off growth/income and not reduce principal. I should only need to average 6% growth going forward. At 62 I should be able to start Roth conversions for a few years before I draw any social security. I have an accounting degree and have been doing the rough planning but need to check with my brother who is an active CPA to check my work. My big wrinkle in this plan is health care. For me it's the hardest thing to plan for. I wonder how many people I see at work would be retired if they had a good healthcare option. What are you guys planning? My wife is 7 years younger and works for a school district. If she kept a job like that for the first 5 years to get group insurance it would help us maximize Roth conversions under the incremental tax rate cap as opposed to spending conversion money on healthcare.
I was going to buy Tickets to Germany and Italy last week but I've put it off thinking that we could get blocked entry. At a minimum I'll but insurance but need to make sure it covers being denied entry.
Another report I saw said the guy eventually broke it off with her when he found out she was banging other guys on her security team. Probably has a Whitney Houston Bodyguard fantasy.
