Everything matters during aging. How hot were the summers? How cold were the winters? What was the humidity? Where in the country was it produced? Where in the rickhouse was it aged? Even yearly releases will vary in taste from year to year even though the mash bill is the same (think BTAC releases).
I’m in the same boat. As long as Sark still running the show, I’m bearish on our championship hopes until he can show us something other than what he’s put forth in 5 seasons. Is the Muschamp hire going to change his stubborn play calling and personnel decisions? How many times do we need to lose to OSU, Georgia and the like before we realize Sark in his current form is overmatched against elite coaches/rosters. To me, the Muschamp move made Sark look even less accountable and his ego is one of the main reasons keeping this program from where it should be.
To preface, I’m glad Muschamp is back in Austin and I think our front seven will greatly benefit from a more aggressive style.
But all this talk that PK’s “bend-but-don’t-break” somehow kept the offense from flourishing is pure madness. Flourishing from what? More three and outs? False starts? Drops? We spent two thirds of the season watching our offense be completely inept and it was the defense that had to bail us out time and time again. Maybe having to play 80 snaps back to back weeks on the road to beat SEC bottom feeders in OT played a part in how the defense broke down at the end of the season?
My main problem with this year’s defense was that we didn’t force nearly as many turnovers, but that can always be kind of a fluky stat. It didn’t necessarily turn into giving up a ton more points as we still were among the leaders in that stat. I think Muschamp’s more aggressive style should hopefully force more turnovers in the future.
I’m willing to believe that Sark jumped at an opportunity to make one side of the ball better. Hopefully after the bowl game he’s as willing to jump at the same chance on his side of the ball.
Last night I saw Spec’s had a Penelope Estate 13 year available in the app so I rushed over to get it. As expected, they didn’t have it anywhere to be found so I found a manager. He brought this out for me for the trouble. Not a bad consolation prize.
Who fucking cares? It was Week 1 and their starter was a Freshman making his first start. And they still won.
GTFO with that participation trophy bullshit. Very aggy line of thinking.
What, you count the OSU loss as a win, you fucking dunce? If the roles were reversed and we were a two loss team protecting a spot against a three loss team (including one to OSU) nobody here would be saying they should be in over us.
I don’t see why so many of our fans are just trying to wave away the OSU loss like it’s nothing. You only get the benefit of the doubt of scheduling that game when you’re comparing against teams with the same number of losses as you. You don’t get to just wipe away the loss like it never happened.
We are out of the playoffs because we lost to Florida. Simple as that. You want to be mad at something? Be pissed our coaching staff and players get their asses kicked by a team who fired their coach two weeks after we played them.
Based on what? Sark handles business in rivalry games, but what makes you think oddsmakers would favor us over Indiana or Oregon given his track record again non-conference elite opponents?
