Texas Recruiting Notes 2025: Duck Around and Find Out
Wonder what a HS WR like Ffrench costs compared to a portal guy like Bond or Golden. At some point recruiting HS WRs may not be all that worth it

Who votes on the Thorpe award? Time to get the Jahdae campaign in full gear
-
This defense is a bunch of grown ass men, and yes they deserve their own thread
Who is Jahdae's main competition for the Thorpe? Travis Hunter? Hard to believe there's anyone playing better at DB

Quinn "La Joya" Ewers - The Man The Myth The Mullet, Now Starting for the Miami Dolphins
Quinn wasn't available during player media availability today despite the big performance Saturday. Probably not a coincidence lol

Real or not, QE is going to have a not-so-happy gf to deal with this week..

2024 Houston Texans Season Thread
Texans OL coach should've been fired weeks ago. Regression across the board, must be leading the league in OL penalties, can't run block or pass protect. Now you get a guy stripping the ball from his own QB. I laughed out loud at the stupidity. All this for an OL with 1st/2nd rounders all over and tons of money invested in it

NIL Recruiting News Megathread
Maybe wrong thread but Diego Pavia is suing the NCAA over eligibility rules. Part of the suit is about JUCO treatment but there's also a piece relating to the 4-year limit that I'm not clear on. Is this the beginning of the end for the 4-year eligibility rule in CFB?

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
So I guess we'll probably be in the market for a portal WR now? Losing Bond, Bolden, Cook for sure. What are the odds on Golden going pro? That leaves you with Moore, Wingo, and maybe Golden as the only guys with experience. Then add a couple 5 star Freshmen to the mix but who knows how ready they'll be. Sark doesn't seem to like taking any chances at WR

2023 WR Johntay Cook
In one of his pressers just this week or last, I'm pretty sure Sark mentioned wanting to get Johntay more involved. Interesting timing..

Week 10, 2024 - Texas Vs. Florida
On3 has an update on Lagway's injury. I don't have access but based on some tweets it sounds like a grade 2 strain. No idea what that means for likelihood of playing Saturday

Week 10, 2024 - Texas Vs. Florida
I'm confused how there aren't any reports on Lagway other than what Napier said publicly. Does UF not have nosey 9.95ers who leak everything in advance?
-
Florida-Georgia in Jacksonville
Totally get that if I were a UF fan. But Billy is probably more concerned about still being the coach for spring ball than DJ being healthy for it..
-
Florida-Georgia in Jacksonville
Lagway not ruled out for Saturday, per Napier. That's surprising

NFL Week 9
Why the fuck does CBS have to stick with this blowout Ravens game instead of switching to the Bills/Dolphins? So dumb edit: they saw my post and immediately switched. Still should've happened 20 minutes ago..

Texas RB Talk
Can Burnt Endz buy a Jugs machine specifically for the RB room? Sheesh a lot of drives killed by RB drops this year. The coaches should have walk-ons constantly peppering the RBs with passes during drills in practice.

That was Arch at QB

Texas O-line talk
Thanks for posting, interesting to see. Yeah the first two aren't really on Banks (although you could argue he held on the first one). I think he did give up one to Mykel Williams later that was probably his fault though. Regarding Quinn - last year his pocket presence was his biggest weakness. This year before the injury, he was VASTLY improved shifting around in the pocket to buy time while keeping his eyes downfield. I was pumped seeing it. After his injury though, that improved pocket presences seems to be completely gone. I doubt he's still physically hurt but I think that injury, and maybe Arch pressure, has gotten in his head.

NIL Recruiting News Megathread
After reading the UT release, I'm guessing the revenue share is technically for NIL, but not exclusive NIL rights. So the school is paying them for the right to use their NIL all over the place, but they can still do endorsements with other companies.

NIL Recruiting News Megathread
Can someone explain this future rev share stuff to me: Does this mean Title IX applies, so basically ~11mm can be shared with men and ~11mm to women? What does "revenue mostly shared by buying player NIL rights" mean? Does that mean the school owns exclusive NIL rights, so if an athlete wants to do a commercial, the school has to approve it and gets paid for it?

Texas D-Line Talk
Just from my casual live viewing, seemed like run defense was a little soft. The CSU RB had 100 yards at 4+ ypc. Felt like mostly quick passes from CSU so not a ton of pass rush opps.

Random question but what happened to Jacoby Matthews from ATM? He entered the portal but I can't find a peep about where he ended up, if anywhere. Seems odd
