People in the middle US are insane. I had a British boss overseas that asked how long it would take to drive from my hometown (OKC) to a co-workers (Houston). I said it would only take about 7 hours. He said....'Bloody hell....that's London to Edinburgh....one end of the UK to the other." CSB
Without a doubt Presti regrets that Harden deal but he's been fun to watch in the meantime. Sending an aging Serge Ibaka to Orlando for Oladipo and Sabonis? Then sending them to Indiana for Paul George? Then flipping him to LA for SGA, Gallinari and 5 first-rounders? You reckon Michael Winger regrets that trade?
It's wild how much the Thunder catch so much hate when they're literally the blueprint for building a winning culture from the ground up. No super team (Presti tried that and failed with Russ, PG13 and Carmelo), no drama, just straight-up hard work, player development and unselfish basketball. The best defense in the NBA. 80 wins so far this year. Not bad.
I still get a kick out of all of the Aussies online that rip OKC for trading Josh Giddy for Caruso. The spark this guy brings to that OKC team is amazing.
I'm not even a Jets fan but really looking forward to seeing what Hellebuyck does in the playoffs. Gotta have a hot keeper. They looked great in person in Dallas last week.
I've recently logged back into Stern after a year absence. Yeah, it's not quite the same. Enjoyed the Bill Murray interview......but I find myself listening to old clips on Youtube of the Artie years. Peak.
We had a coach that used to say 'It doesn't really matter how many games you win before Christmas......it's how many you win after."
Not sure what the policy is regarding April Fool's Day.
A little off topic but do the players say much about AAC ice? Seems like the puck was bouncing a lot last night and guys were over-skating the puck. Curious if the ice is just crap. Sort of felt like the building was getting colder last night.
Was anyone here at the game? I noticed a few empty seats in the final minute. I love it when fans leave early and get home to find out they missed an incredible finish/loss.
Anybody here go to the Thunder/Pistons game last night? I'm kinda surprised Schroder didn't get a tec for going straight to Daigneault at the end of the game. Got a bit chippy.
I'm assuming he was pissed over the Thunder having their power five out there in the final minute. Funny seeing Schroder and SGA arguing while dribbling out the clock.
Exhibition game rematch of the '87 Finals. Gretzky, Kurri, Messier and crew. Got to miss school to go to the game. Great memory. Seeing an NHL game in Dallas was quite the event at that time.
Just read Mark LaForest died today. For some reason, I still remember him playing between the pipes for the Flyers on September 30, 1987 against the Edmonton Oilers when they played in Dallas at Reunion Arena. Daryl Reaugh played goal for the Oilers. Flyers won 5-3 and Nick Fotiu actually played in that game. No idea why I remember that.
Anyone else go to that game?
I agree with this. I lived in a few decent condos around On Nut and I'm not sure I'd trust the construction standards. Every site around town had workers bussed in from Cambodia, Laos and Isan with most likely questionable skills. I can't see ever investing in a condo in Thailand.
