Considering fertilizer prices were already sky high before this Russian nonsense blew up, I really hate to see where they go once sanctions start to kick in. Russia is one of the most prolific producer of the components of agricultural fertilizer… ammonium nitrate and potash in particular. Hay crops are one thing - it’s going to affect the larger food supply in a bad way.
My pool builder told me while he welcomes referrals he didn’t want me to tell any of those parties how quickly my project moved, lest they have unreasonable expectations about their own build. He said for whatever reason we jumped 3 other projects he had going at the same time. Good fortune I guess.
My backyard pool project started with excavation on January 5. I started filling the pool today - a mere 6 weeks after starting. Pretty happy with how quickly things progressed. How long will it take to fill 15,000 gallons with two garden hoses? I’m expecting around 16 hours. But I was told there would be no math.
Nuggets, right? Seemed a solid dude - hope the best for him. Nice to see a full commit to the rebuild. Only question now is will we see 6 more wins this year.
This is it right here. It really doesn’t matter who won, who was screwed … the decision was taken to end the race as dramatically as possible by bending the rules in an unprecedented way. That is disheartening for those of us who watch this as a sporting competition and not just as the live component of a Netflix series puffed up and made for TV entertainment.
Agree with most of this but I’m not sure it taints the win. He took advantage of an opportunity that came about through no fault or funny business of his own. The rules were absolutely massaged to create an event that generated a racing end rather than an end under yellow. But it wasn’t right to make that choice at the cost of bending the rules as everyone seemed to understand them before today.
Well, that was nutz. Lots of good racing today even with the lap 1 mess. Checo versus Lewis was fee-nom-in-nal. But that ending … ugh. Max raced his ass off and took advantage of opportunity in the chaos. The rules were not followed, though. The race director does not have authority to let only 5 cars unlap themselves to allow for a racing finish in the last lap. The result will stand I’m sure but a less than ideal outcome for anyone other than RBR and Max fans. The casual racing fans should love the drama but for those that want a race determined by drivers and not the race director the finish falls far short. Entertainment and drama won the day which is a shame because the racing was excellent. Gonna be a long offseason and my house will certainly miss racing for the next several months.
Funny how this thread managed to veer off with gusto into earnest discussion about Lewis’ hypocrisies, virtue signaling, and SJW-ing after hand waving and dismissing Max’s shitass dangerous driving shenanigans the last several races. Fan bois gonna fan boi I guess.
