It could be both. Coburn & Sweat were reportedly not in the best of shapes last season. The offseason strength & conditioning program definitely seems to be much better this year than it was last year.
Ketch always throws out this crazy stat about how since the internet recruiting era started (i.e. the 2002 recruiting cycle) that over half of the 6'5 (or taller) blue-chip EDGE recruits from the state of Texas ended up being NFL draft picks. Seeing that stat makes it obvious why the UT staff had both Vasek & Bralyon Shelby as higher priorities over Akana.
At the same time I can see why folks like BornAndRaised are high on Akana. UT doesn't have any EDGE player on their roster who is a relentless high-motor speed rusher like Akana appears to be on his junior highlight film.
I've been watching a lot of 2012 & 2013 LHN highlights on YouTube lately.... And I'm not convinced that Xavier Worthy is better deep threat WR than Mike Davis was.
Listening to this week’s Horns247 recruiting podcast & Mike Roach mentioned that the UT coaching staff is really high on the committed Hawaii LB & thinks if he played H.S. Football in Texas instead of Hawaii that he’d be considered on the same talent-level as Anthony Hill.
Damn, y'all really don't think highly of Cojoe?
I know Gerry Hamilton recently reiterated that he is considers Cojoe a high-ceiling development prospect that UT doesn't want to lose to TCU.
If Baxter ends up bailing, who's the contingency? Does UT go after Reuebn Owens or the in-state kid that recently decommited from Michigan State who stock as national recruit is rising?
Can somebody post the Team Humidor that was put out on Saturday morning?: https://www.on3.com/teams/texas-longhorns/news/team-humidor-much-needed-bye-week-rest-and-recovery/

Based on the replies to the thread, it sounds like Mo Blackwell has finally been moved back to LB.
Bobby Burton revealed during the IT post game show that Whittington was held back in practice this week due to a nagging back injury. I know Whitt has already said earlier this year this current 2022 season would be his last season despite having 2 more years of eligibility after this current season. But it's probably safe to assume this nagging back injury kills any chance of Whitt changing his mind in case any of y'all were holding hope that he would change his mind.
