Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Ironically, he graded the opposite of what one have expected. Great in pass, not so great run blocking. Definitely limited sample size though.

The OL played better than I thought how it could have gone given it was their first start against such an opponent and venue. But they definitely had some breakdowns in pass pro and shortfalls in run blocking. Stuff to work on but not anything to panic over at this early juncture.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Don't be such a defeatist.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
I sometimes think players either take some coaching too much to heart or start to outsmart themselves. Specifically what I mean here is, Wisner is capable of getting more, if he'd be more decisive when he sees a crease to take it and go. He used to do that. He has given up yardage at times to dancing and waiting for something more to develop, be it blocks or openings. That's a good thing at times, others, not so much. He needs to refine that decision process IMO.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Hoping to see Moseley by the 2nd or 3rd tuneup game. Think it's unlikely he'll be ready for this one.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Why do this to yourself? I must say I admire your intestinal fortitude, though. Amazing what one can see when he goes back and watches the tape with the benefit of pause and replay. You'll often find that player execution, or lack thereof, had more to do with outcomes than the plays that were called. There's a reason coaches defer answering specific questions about plays or players until they've had a chance to watch the tape. No one can see everything that happens in real time.- Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again

All this, plus I'm interested to see how backups and younger players who get rotated in do. Especially Christian Clark and hopefully James Simon, but also Kaliq Lockett, Jaime Ffrench, the younger TE's. Also interested to see if OL backups get in or whether they keep the starters in to just rep them more as a unit. Likewise, on defense, Kobe Black, Xavier Filsaime, Jorden-Johnson Rubell, Justus Terry, et al. I could go on listing names, but even against inferior opponents, we can still get a sense where these players are at. Obviously, everyone wants to see how Arch plays and his throwing mechanics. Hoping we see some touch and lateral passes in the mix. Emmett Mosely should be coming back from injury as well.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Watch below using full screen starting at 4:32 and make use of pause a few times at 4:33 and at 4:34. His right arm gets forced down and pinned against his side preventing him from making the catch.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
By that notion every team with a great defense should have great offensive production as well. The problem is that you see them every day. You know them. You know what they are trying to do, their schemes, tendencies, etc. Going to face the #1 team in their house is a different beast. Exactly, especially first game out of the shoot. There's a reason high school teams scrimmage opposing schools prior to the season starting. Don't know if the still do, but once upon a time they did.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Sark also said, "let her rip". It would seem Manning took that to heart, mechanics be damned, much to our chagrin.- Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 1)
It is pinned. I also provided the video, not just the screenshots, but I can't press play at 4:32 in for you and make your eyes function. Calling a fact is not whining and I acknowleged that it happened fast in real time, so not really accusing the refs here of any bias. I'm not sure the play could be reviewed either, since a flag wasn't thrown, but I think that's the way it goes.- Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 1)
It's a good play because it wasn't called. It's good in the sense that playing that aggresively in the endzone saved a TD and a PI is preferable to 7 on the board. But that's pass interference. A DB is allowed to play the ball, not pin a receivers arms to prevent the catch. You're flat out wrong. There is a difference between an arm and hand around the waist or hip vs pinning arms so they can't catch. You're flat out full of shit to say it wasn't egregious enough to affect the play. I will say though, that in real time, it happens very fast and the official on the field could easily miss it. It's blatant in replay that pinning his arm prevented the catch. Klatt and Gus shouldn't have missed it though.- Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 1)
You weren't wrong about his arm being pinned. Blatant pass interference. I don't know what the turf has to do with this catch other than he would have had to secure the ball after the catch on that play. Not only does his right arm get pinned, but it pulls his body to the right and the DB's body bears his down as both their bodies progress through that catch attempt, so it also prevents any chance of a one handed catch. Replay from 4:32 in.- Media/$9.95-er postgame analysis articles (Week 1)
That was actually a great throw. It wasn’t a drop, because Igbinonus (sp?) had his right arm pinned. Let’s not reverse Mandel Arch here ^^^ This ^^^ ... Ohio State got away with one there and no one in the booth bothered to say anything.- Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Seems like that would be true for any OC. Despite that there usually were open windows of opportunity. But they are short and need to be recognized quickly. That's the difference between an elite QB and most. Will take time for Arch to become seasoned, but if we're lucky, he'll be a quicky study.- Beer 2025: Merry Christmas Everyone, Including the Haters and Losers

Are you certain no one was ever wide open? Did you have full view of the field watching the WRs on every single play? I never have that good of camera angles watching it on TV and if you're watching it live in the stadium, it's still tough to be disciplined enough to say you saw it all. - Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
