  1. We all know the major male sports get priority. Reed-Francois will almost certainly be fired if she loses Fisch and Lloyd.
  2. I get their perspective was my main point. I would be pretty apprehensive about hiring a female AD at a major program. The reality is hiring/keeping male coaches is often a boy's club. Call it sexist or whatever you want.
  3. There are? Barbour at Penn State and Cohen at Washington are about the only two that come to mind. There isn't a top 15ish athletic program run by a woman but that's not to say a woman can't have success in that role. It would be a major anomaly though.
  4. Arizona received a lot of criticism from their fans for hiring a female AD. It's looking like they were right. She did take over a mess though.
  5. I think Lloyd is somebody you can get if you're willing to pay the buyout. There's apparently a lot of turmoil at Arizona with their new AD. Lost Fisch to Washington, we just recently stole their women's golf coach, etc. The new AD apparently took over a major financial mess and had to make major cuts.
  6. Assuming Lloyd is the hire our major sports (both men's and women's sports) are in a good spot. I can't think of a time when we had an elite coach in every sport. Men's basketball: Lloyd Football: Sark Baseball: Schloss Women's basketball: Schaefer Volleyball: Elliott Softball: White
  7. That's a good one but I bet Vaughn will be gone soon.
  8. Would Lloyd, Sark, and Schloss give us the best trio of coaches in the major sports? I can't think of a school that even comes close. The only school that comes to mind is Oregon with Lanning, Altman, and Wasikowski.
  9. Feels like the tournament success will eventually come for Lloyd. In 4 seasons, these were Lloyd's kenpom ranks: #14, #6, #11, and #5. So he's had a top-15ish caliber team every year as a head coach.
  10. Brother, you were in the women's basketball threads saying Vic was not a great hire because he could not recruit at a national championship level. Sorry if I don't take you seriously.
  11. Every hire CDC has made has been a home run outside of probably RT which was kind of a PR/emotional/forced hire but yeah let's judge his ability to hire coaches before we even see what that coach does at Texas.
  12. We can debate in circles about Miller but the point is there's no way age would be a factor in hiring him. Matter of fact, it's pretty obvious that CDC wants older coaches.
  13. That's not really Del Conte's hiring profile outside of maybe Beard. Bowman, Floreal, Schloss, White, Metzger, and Schaefer were early 50s to mid 50s if not older. CDC does not seem to be someone that wants to hire young and it's worked for him so far at Texas.
  14. Because he hasn't accomplished much? Wade has only made the 2nd weekend 1 time in his entire career. I do think Wade is a good coach though that will likely win if you give him resources.
