  1. Google Ads VP: “$68mm ain’t nothing. I’d have paid $688mm and still be ahead.”
  2. Let's hope that does not happen. A Crockett supporter should be sophisticated enough to realize that any vote for a D (even if it is not your preferred D) helps keep fools like Paxton or Cornyn out of office - further weakening the Trump administration. So far as I see it, Trump needs to be rendered irrelevant. I do not care if it is Crockett or Talarico who helps that happen. I sure hope everyone understands that,.
  3. Attended Michigan @ Purdue tonight. Michigan is a really fucking good basketball team. Mackey Arena was incredibly loud. Purdue went up 7-2 and Michign proceeded to go on a 24-4 run to make it 26-11. Michigan led by over 20 at one point. Purdue pulled to within 8 with 1:30 left, but it was too late. Michigan's achilles heel will be the whininess of its players. The seem to be great when ahead, but when there is a bit of duress, they become whiners and can get distracted. The talent and ability is there, though. I was a bit disappointed in the Purdue students. No one had a Sherrone more poster or a "Funded by Oracle" sign. Fantastic gameday experience.
  4. Nor are baseball players. Here we have the confluence of the two.
  5. Vis a vis what I highlighted, my son’s friends’ experiences were different, but that was ~10 years ago. If there is not a free slot in the destination major, it is not happening. Son’s roommate had a 3.97 in biochem and wanted to also double-major in CS. No slots in CS. Edited to add: I am an amenable to bedding Stephanie Seymour. That does not mean it will happen.
  6. While criminal prosecution and permanent imprisonment would be the ideal outcome for most of these fuckers, why not go after them in civil suits? My first instinct is that the civil suits fail because each the plaintiffs in the civil suits is undercapitalized (relatively) and does not have the adequate resources, attorneys, etc. to sling mud with folks worth 9 and 10 figures. However, could a legal fund be created with the sole purpose of taking folks like Trump, etc. to task? What if someone said, "I have $1B that I will use to help these women get proper care, treatment, lost wages, pain and suffering, etc." Doesn't everything in these files then become part of the discovery - and could eventually lead to a real investigation?" Not a lawyer, in case you could not tell. ;)
  7. Ricky plays a large role in the latest release of the Freakonomics Podcast: Is Weed a Performance Enhancing Drug? The science says no, at least not in the athletic sense. But the psychic benefits can be large — just ask former N.F.L. star Ricky Williams. He says athletes should consider cannabis a healing drug, not a party drug. Even the N.F.L. is starting to agree. https://freakonomics.com/podcast/is-weed-a-performance-enhancing-drug/ It is well done.
  8. Joe Judge is a fucking moron and a disgrace as a leader of young men. Thousands of athletes and millions of other humans have successfully navigated the newborn sleep/wake/feed/diaper challenges. I am bemused by his "Full Metal Jacket" reference. What in the everliving fuck is he talking about? The part where his drill officer chokes Pyle? The part where the drill officer slaps Pyle? The part where they beat Pyle to a pulp with towels wrapped around bars of soap (blanket party)? The part where Pyle kills his drill instructor? Unsurprising that this shitbag is a part of the Belichick coaching lineage.
  9. A few possibilities… 1 - perhaps Drumpf had Garland on his short list 2 - Garland visited the island 3 - Garland was protecting others who visited the island
  10. For FSU and Pedo, that’s around 10k per student of athletics department debt. Can’t wait for that $1k per year “athletics student services fee” for each of them.
  11. The Great Gatsby A Confederacy of Dunces Slaughterhouse Five Not exactly among the great works of literary fiction, but I enjoyed the Jack Reacher series and the Bosch series.
  12. Watching ESPN’s replay/truncation of the previous NE/Seattle Superb Owl, I am reminded of another of the Belichick cheating maxims: They cannot call a penalty every play. Good lord. Every fucking play, some NE asshole is holding, grabbing, chopping, etc. Fuck BB. And, yes, he’s still a HOF coach.
  13. And to think this one photo killed a person's presidential aspirations. And Trump persists.
  14. Replying to myself - yes... Quick update... I decided to buy an inverter replacement board from Amazon - $38. Worst case scenario, I return it. Best case, the refrigerator is fixed. Well, the reason the compressor did not come on was because the inverter board had indeed failed. After moving the fridge for access, it was a 3 minute repair. The Samsung lives to frustrate me again in the future.
  15. Maybe he really did not think what he did was unethical or illegal.
