Yeah I stood in like a couple times when I knew for a fact something was there, but now I just leave it to chance or hit less popular stores hoping for less interest. The main Spec’s in town typically leaves clues on a personal Instagram page, but I swear there are at least a dozen flippers in the apartment complex behind it. Seen them waddling down from the parking deck at 10:05 with their bags on multiple occasions. Can’t compete with unemployment! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s nuts. I saw some numbers like that but didn’t really believe it. One is primo, label and everything, but appears to have a bit more evaporation than the one not in the box. Seen one with a lower liquid level still estimated at $900. This is a heck of a lot more fun than standing in front of the damn bunny store at 9:00am on a Tuesday morning. So that’s what I am curious about. I know I’ve seen stuff in the past, but a quick google left me scratching my head. Seemed to find some threads that made it seem like a couple hundred, while others related to auction houses were more like you’re saying. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You go to the wife’s grandmother’s house every year for thanksgiving, and it’s year number 15 that you stumble across the old box of liquor in the hall closet while looking for an extra cable for the tv. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Figured you had to hit one soon. They’ve been popping up everywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Someone suggested I offset anywhere from 2-4% or so of the OGD114 with some Eagle Rare. For only a few ounces I figured it was worth the experiment since I had a few extra bottles in inventory. Really enjoyed that batch. Have another one in the hopper looking to hit 4 months around Christmas. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Their vertical series rye is really good too. It’s silver and is just at 4 years this year. The bourbon one is great though. Liquor King up in Allen did a store pick of the 5-year VS bourbon single barrel that I tried, but it’s definitely not $20 better than the regular one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well said. I just always warn people that it definitely tastes like a Canadian whisky. I don’t know what that necessarily means, other than I know exactly what that means. Lol. It’s very smooth and after that initial sip, I always enjoy the pour. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s honestly my favorite of their regular lineup. Can never find it in TX though, but typically snag a bottle or two when in OK. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m pretty sure last year’s was their own stuff as well, based on what I recall from my Act 7 bottle from last year. Regardless, it was fantastic, and the Act 8 I bought last week is great as well. If you happen to see one of their Barrel Select Double Ryes (finished in Syrah barrels for 9 mo), grab that too. Solid knockoff of the discontinued Yippe Ki Yay. Haven’t found the barrel finished American prairie yet, but I’m not a fan of the base, so can’t imagine I’d rate the byproduct highly. Haven’t plucked a 4 yet but know I will. It pains me to pay over ~$60 when there’s so much available under that price point that is delicious, but the III was so good. II was great but III was another level. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

And in what town did this magnificent drop occur? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Exactly. Lots of back scratching. The bigger stores can absorb a lot more of the Starr Blu vodkas is the world to get a little boost on the hard to find stuff. Some of the smaller stores may gamble on some of those types of items if they feel like they can move them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Yeah only W12s I’ve “seen” that weren’t outrageously priced or points-protected were in the hands of jokers that sat outside a liquor store for an hour before opening or squatted in the store waiting for a truck. No thanks, I’ll just collect my consolation prizes and go home. EHTBP is my exception.. I’ll hop a freight train to o catch that. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Anybody have a line on when Deb’s in Austin might be getting their HW Double Rye Syrah SP or Old Forrester Barrel Proof SP? Seems like they tease stuff WAY in advance. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well done. Was this a stumble upon or a planned thing? I thought I had one lined up the other day back in my hometown (Tulsa), but kept striking out with local people to run up there. Had them on the shelf for a full hour after the store opened, but the person I finally got to go walked in about 10 minutes later. Crazy how different some markets are. Specs off 75 in Dallas had probably 60 people lined up before opening. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

https://hardinhabitat.com/ I’m sure this violates some sort of board rule, but oh well. Not terrible odds with only 1,000 tickets being sold, and honestly that Stagg is a 2015 I think, which has value on its own. FYI Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s a good setup. I have a little old man at Total Wine Allen that straight up lies to me or is completely oblivious to how his company operates, OR a handful of employees at a local spot (Empire Allen) that speak the company line about a supposed allocation raffle that has been supposed to happen since the end of January, but they keep waiting on “a few more bottles to come in.” Lies.
