And boy, are these guys being treated well while they're waiting, or what? Troops deployed to U.S.-Mexico border lack hot food, electricity A U.S. soldier at a border crossing in Donna, Texas, on Nov. 6. Photo: Andrew Cullen/AFP/Getty Images The midterms are over. But the 5,600 American troops sent to the southern border with Mexico are "still going through the motions of an elaborate mission that appeared to be set into action by a commander in chief determined to get his supporters to the polls," the New York Times reports. What's happening: Troops at the border are sleeping in tents that house 20 soldiers and have no electricity or air conditioning, with some suffering heat exhaustion within days of starting the mission. There's no mess hall — only pre-made "Ready-to-Eat" meals — and the only phone chargers available are attached to "a few generators that power spotlights around the living area." Department of Defense officials worry that if the number of troops increases to 15,000, the cost could be as high as $200 million.
  2. Threw me for a second, too. They meant a 20-game win streak overall, not against each other. Like Texas won 30 consecutive games from 1968-1970, A&M's most consecutive wins is apparently 20 from 1938-1940. Texas beat them as their last loss before the streak, and their first loss to end their streak, so A&M only beat us once during that time. Unusually, I only see 19 consecutive wins for them, so I don't know what the 20th win is supposed to be. Spring game, anyone?
  3. Texas would also jump back onto the historical map:

  5. Baraboo seems like a charming place: https://www.wiscnews.com/baraboonewsrepublic They drove around with a confederate flag to honor their friend? In Wisconsin?! I don't remember Wisconsin being such a crucial place for the Confederacy. Must have been some other reason for it... Hmm...

  9. If you think this current regime represents conservative fiscal policy, then something's amiss with you.
  10. "And Mr. Trump if we could just have you stand over here, we'll head over to the cemetery presently... Mr. Trump? Mr. Trump, wait... Mr. Trump..."
  11. Make no doubt - "smart-guy" was definitely meant to describe the glasses.
  12. There are at least two Cabinet members that have run for President before. Any chance Rick Perry gets larger smart-guy glasses, or any of the others within the administration get a bit itchy and start their own campaigns? Would be fun to see how Trump would react to someone else in the administration running against him.
  13. Ah yeah, my bad. Eventually, we'll have a notable mass shooting anniversary for every day of the year.
  14. No, the synagogue shooting was October 27th, so not even two weeks since.
  15. The replies to this are well worth a read...
