  1. When you drop a deuce and have to wipe 100 times, that's SAS.
  2. Well that and Cignetti is a once-in-a-generation coach who moved with JMU from the CAA to the Sun belt. The one that built up NDSU was Bohl when he coached there from 2003-2013 and NDSU is now on their 3rd coach since losing Bohl.
  3. At times I work peripherally in academics as a consultant. I've worked with numerous higher ed officials from different universities in Texas (UT, TCU, Baylor, Tech, HBU) over the years. I did not work with Starr directly, but I know Starr ideologically opposed Title IX. He didn't think a school should be legally responsible for conducting investigations of off campus incidents. He felt that should be done by law enforcement and I would tend to agree with that. Schools are neither trained nor equipped to run criminal investigations. That's not how they are built and it's one reason why you see a lot of schools having a tough time dealing with issues. The problem is, his opposition to Title IX created a lack of compliance for his school. Most schools response to something critical will be, "We have no comment at this time other than we are addressing the issue". Baylor's response was infighting, with the result being throwing the school and athletics into the public sphere. TLDR: School administrators often behave like children.
  4. I think you have your years mixed up. 2011 tcu finished 1st in the mwc with a 7-0 in conference record and played Sonny Dykes la. tech team in the Poinsettia bowl , winning 31-24. 2012 was their first year in B12, they finished 4-5 in conference. So first place in the MWC = 5th place in a real conference.
  5. I did a lot of work out that way years ago. I distinctly remember my GPS showing a big lake..which didn't exist. Never saw any springs, either.
  6. I must have misread some articles then, which is my mistake. However, everything else still stands. Fuck Adams, Fuck Tagliabue and Fuck the Titans.
  7. Not sure if I already said this...fuck Bud Adams. Fuck Tagliabue too because he approved the "Retirement" of the Oilers logo and everything. WITF was that? That was some bastard fuck you shit. When the 2nd iteration of the Browns came back - they were the Browns. They didn't shut off the name sake for perpetuity. Oh and fuck the Titans too. They are NOT the Oilers and don't deserve to claim any of the history. TLDR: Fuck Bud Adams and Fuck Tagliabue
  8. Kalen DeBoer: "there is a fine line" between his team's historic 38-3 loss to Indiana in the College Football Playoff quarterfinal at the Rose Bowl and where he wants to be. Also DeBoer:
  9. Any chance you can do us all a favor and go walk around Greenspoint (Houston) at night yelling out racists comments so you can get beat up or shot? Or, to speed up the process, perhaps go to Sunnyside (Houston) and do the same thing? TIA!
  10. Moore can't bang a staffer, but the AD can nail the men's coach. That's quite the double standard.
  11. Miami (OH) dismissed those allegations as false But since you have a photo of a random person texting about it, it must be true
  12. We will always have this weird beauty pageant invitational crap because there are too many competing businesses (conferences) that are self-serving. If we want to play fantasy for a minute: conferences would get blown up, realigned for parity, long standing rivalries and geography as best as possible. Each division can just be the conference name instead of something boring like west/north etc 10 teams per conference, 6 conferences. Round robin, no CCG. Top 2 teams in each conference get auto bids. If needed, a wild card system can be devised. The remaining +60 programs would be put in the new FBS-II or something with 7 conferences and 10 teams per, with their own separate playoffs. There are 136 teams in FBS, so things don't divide perfectly. Or 8 conferences in FBS and 6 in FBS-II etc. Maybe allow some teams from FBS-II to move up (i.e. for winning FBS-II titles) and then push some of the bottom dwellers in FBS down etc based on performance. I'm sure there are some tweaks that could make it better, but that's just off the top of my head. --End of fantasy--
  13. graduation, getting kicked off the team, portal, the NFL, medical. Lots or reasons kids don't come back.
  14. The extra practices you get from a Cheese-Dick bowl game isn't gonna make a team tangibly better the following season.
  15. That happened because the governor questioned the logic behind these buyouts. I think that its all part of the broader issue, which is the fact that La is corrupt and broke and people are questioning why coaches are getting tens of millions in guaranteed money to not work there, when there's uneven roads and pot holes all over the state. The governor got involved, probably just for show but the AD was forced out. So I guess he does have some pull. well that and its cheaper to force the AD out than it is to actually fix problems in the state.
