Going to be in Tulsa in June on the way to somewhere else and staying over for a day. Wife and mother in law will gamble while o go play golf. I’m struggling to figured out the best area to stay and the best course to golf at.
Scanned the on3 rankings. Very surprised to see Notre Dame and Alabama do so well, given the rumors they don’t have as much NIL as other programs. There is also something about the rankings that have always bothered me. They average in all of the players to come up with a composite score, I think? The result is a pretty small difference between any team in the top ten, perhaps leaving a false impression of success for the top few teams vs the lower teams in the top 10. But if you look at history, there is a dramatically different success rate for 3 vs 4 vs 5 star players. And even between highly ranked 4 stars vs lower ranked 4 stars. The ranking should weight the 5 star and highly ranked 4 stars more than the 3 stars and lower ranked 4 stars. I know they do that to some extent by just the pure “number” of each player, but I’m talking about putting an extra factor on top of the highest ranked players to reflect odds of success. Those players also make a huge difference on the field, as compared to lower ranked players. That approach would give a more realistic rating imo. Maybe they already do this?
The most annoying of enshittifications has arrived. Super Bowl commercials. We no longer have witty, surprising, funny, entertaining snippets. Now we have shitty, star laden ads that are no longer a surprise because they post them ahead of time online, and are nothing more than a bunch of celebrities sucking each other off. We have now had Hollywood shoved into every orifice of our existence for every moment of our lives. Yay.
They got a lot of volume. That’s good. Maybe they can use that volume to get lucky in drafts or flip the picks for established talent. I wish the Washington pick was unprotected. Then it would have been a very good trade. But it’s probably good enough. However, following Spurs drafts for years, a team that is notorious for finding value in late 1st and early 2nd rounds, those picks also come with a ton of misses. They may not find one player from all those picks. But I’ll take it.
Isn’t there enough data out there to conclude none of the 9.95rs have enough evaluation skills to really identify non-obvious top talent, even Gerry? It seems like they are wrong a lot, especially more often than the staff.
Interesting. My life long close friends won that in the mid 80’s, along with several football IM championships. And they finished runners up in softball. These guys were helluva athletes. I’ll ask them if at age 60 they can take a WNBA player.
Cross posting from HEB thread. Please buy this because it’s pretty good, and I don’t want HEB to stop making it because people think cauliflower is gross. It tastes great. And it’s a bit healthier
Why doesn’t everyone in cloak room put that idiot on ignore? It’s been proven multiple times he’s just a moron so why engage? If everyone would just put him on ignore he’d just be conversing with himself.
