  1. Let’s see. 1,600 players without a home. Of those I’m guessing at least 50 are OL. We have 20 open slots from 85-105, with no plans to fill the 20. So instead, fill all 20 spots with offensive linemen, drop a football in the middle of a circle of them at midfield at DKR, and the one that survives with the football gets playing time.
  2. I’m excited Texas is going to have to play freshmen more. There has been some great talent sitting on the bench and even when they played, they didn’t get a lot of minutes. Of course they better figure out how to improve their teaching of the schemes, because otherwise it could get ugly at times.
  3. Sure If you’re going to play several freshmen, and really rely on them to some extent, which in this day and age they should, then that’s a pretty stout roster.
  4. I have the impression that Ole Miss was an early thinker in realizing the importance of relying heavily on the portal to remake the roster, and putting less emphasis on high school recruiting. If the data doesn't show this, then I guess I'm mistaken. But assuming this is true, they made it deep into the playoffs with this philosophy. Given they have Glasscock as GM, the natural question is why is it only now that the Texas staff seems to be realizing that greater portal focus and a little less high school focus makes sense. You would think Glasscock would have figured this all out at Texas. Maybe because the recruiting at Texas has been so strong, and Texas wasn't sure how much attrition they would face in the future? Regardless, it sure seems letting Glasscock go was a major mistake.
  5. For fun I went back to the beginning of the year predictions. Got some right, some not. The ones I got wrong I should have known better (Trump). So far this was pretty accurate. Elon did nothing and got discouraged. But I assumed a republican controlled congress and presidency would fix social security and medicare in the first year. They didn't because of Trump's idiocy. The lame tariffs I nailed almost perfectly. Immigration was actually a very serious effort, but unfortunately breaking laws left and right to do it. Inflation still stubbornly high, but at least it didn't increase again (yet). None of this has happened because Trump did something I never thought he'd get away with, continued government spending at insane levels. I should have known better. He has full control over the conservatives. Over 6% at the end of the year. Definitely above where many people said it would be, 5% or lower. Got it pretty close. The other important element from 2025 was GDP. At times it was significantly elevated, which is good. Again, it's because we are running government spending as a percentage of GDP, in a good market, at insane levels. I don't know how this is going to end. By pushing up the debt so hard so fast, Trump can just keep spending the credit card until the end of his term, and then blame the mess on the next guy. I have no idea what 2026 will look like. They still need to get mortage rates and the 10 year down below 4%, as low as 3%. My guess is they manufacture a crisis to temporarily get it down to that level, then quickly refinance the debt with longer term debt.
  6. Jesus. I had to wade thru six fucking pages of the worst garbage I’ve ever read on this site to learn about two players: Clark and Roberson. What a shit show. We need a feature that allows us to vote on ejecting posters from a thread. Fuck it.
  7. What interest rate did the 30 year mortgage end at by the end of 2025?
  8. If only Texas had some sort of coaching connection to him. Somewhere. Somehow. If only.
  9. This post is perfection.
  10. You just couldn’t help yourself, could you?
  11. I wasn’t able to watch the whole game. What are they doing now to win that they weren’t doing before?
  12. “Captain Tuttle was the best damn O.D. we ever had.”
  13. Who’s the old fat grandmother with her hair falling out, standing next to Newman?
  14. So if I read your post correctly it sounds like Brooks and Barnes probably signed elsewhere for not much more money than Texas offered? So was it about playing time, or just hurt feelings?
  15. But but but I thought we were no longer taking development guys if they cost too much. And if he didn’t cost so much, then why didn’t he stay at A&M? It can only be because he sucks, or he discovered what A&M is all about. I’m guessing the latter.
  16. Some OU dorks on the radio think they are killing it in the portal. I’m scanning their list, it doesn’t seem that great to me. Anyone have a better insight on them? Given their “GM” model it’s interesting to compare to Texas’ current situation.
  17. Something better happen soon, I’m in the process of wrapping up RGBIII’s poop bag.
  18. These people are so effed up in the head. They are jealous, paranoid, dimwitted, goofy, whack jobs.
  19. Wait, yesterday was such a fun, pleasant day. I thought that....
  20. I’m sure transferring is a factor in an evaluation, especially multiple transfers. But having an extra year of tape on a guy who is playing, vs sitting on the bench, is going to have a much stronger impact on his draft potential, unless the transfers also uncover attitude issues. More than 2 transfers would also be a significant red flag.
  21. The greatest introduction of a new Bevo in the history of Bevo.
  22. I also wondered about black at safety.
  23. He knows he’s been pretty good, but needs to be better in order for Texas to win titles. He believes in himself, had several chances to portal out, knows he may be in a dog fight for playing time, but stayed and believes he can be successful. I like his attitude.
  24. You mean when Sark calls the fumble play?
