The execs I know on the homebuilder and building products side think Bill Pulte is the biggest moron in the whole administration. While they appreciate the attention on housing, the consensus is that the initiatives from both Trump and Congress are just throwing spaghetti against the wall and will likely lead to very slight improvement in housing affordability. Stuff like curtailing buybacks or forcing volumes is detrimental to the national builders that already have an incentive to keep growing community counts.
