Probably late 80s was the last time o watched it but it was pretty awesome and I know I watched it a bunch growing up. The cyclops dude holding the door knowing is death is coming. And the scene in the swamp and fog where the old man is one of the bad guys and grabs the dudes neck with his demon fingers. Those parts stick out to me. I'm sure it will still be good now
Which year would you choose?
The only criteria is no re-releases allowed.
For me, it's 1983. I know some will say 1985 or 1986 or 1994 but they are wrong. I get 1 of the original trilogy Star Wars, RotJ, which I have seen over 500 times. I get Vacation, which was probably my favorite comedy growing up. I get A Christmas Story for the winter months and I get my drama and fantasy fixes with The Outsiders and Krull. There are other years with more quality movies. I know this. But I chose 1983 because I know Id watch the hell out of those movies and not just have a trophy year of movies that I may watch a few times over the years so I can brag about how cool I am for choosing 1986.
It looks like the next 4 weeks are going to suck in dallas but to get this far into summer before the shitty heat starts is a huge win. Anything under 100 the next 4 weeks I'll take. The hottest 3 weeks of the year are the last week in July and the first 2 weeks of August.
I knew this before but reading these posts reminds me my wife and I need to hang on for dear life to each other. We both have high paying jobs, both are fiercely independent, and want to retire in mexico soon. If I'm ever not with her, I'm perfectly content to live life alone with my sex robot.
I think it's going to be a somewhat moot point in x number of years where a guy or girl can just buy an ai robot companion and program it how they see fit. I've often wondered what the secondary/used market place would look like once they get tired of the robot they are fucking.
I'm not sure there is a way to reverse what is happening today in society and the ai revolution I doubt will fix the problem, but instead will augment it.
Off the top of my head I count 10 smoking hot female celebs from the 80s. Diane lane, Heather Locklear, and demi Moore all made the cut among a few others. I mean our 80s female super stars were Madonna, molly ringwald,, Carrie fisher and ally Sheedy. I didn't count models like Christie brinkley. Obviously there are more if you count models.
So yes I exaggerated a bit with the 90210 comp but not by much.
I don't think Madonna is very good looking. Never have. I'm also gonna take it a step further and say the female celebs in the 80s weren't nearly as good looking as other decades.
I mean the full female cast of Beverly hills 90210 had more hot chicks than the entirety of the 80s female celebs. You all can chew on that for a bit.
Straight white male is only answer unless you want to risk losing more of our freedoms/democracy. Knowing the Dem party, that isn't going to happen. The irony of this isn't lost on me either.
I think the writing was better in the Rebecca years but maybe that's because the writers felt they had more freedom. For me it's almost like 2 different shows. Coach and Diane and then Rebecca and woody. And i loved them both. I know there was some overlap but that's how I remember it. I agree with most everything posted above me but man, there has never been a better story arc for a couple in TV history than Sam and Diane. It ended perfectly. The 2 of them dancing as an old couple during her last episode...nothing tops that in my opinion. The Sam and Diane story line was perfect and it ended perfectly in the perfect amount of seasons. There's a reason everyone on the planet thinks cheers when they hear Sam and Diane together in a sentence. It was that good and has never been even close to replicated.
Dallas may be the only big city in Texas that is bearable now. It sucks here in July and August like the rest of the southern half of the US but our suck still starts later. I look at Austin and Houston feels like temps in May and June compared to Dallas and there is a big difference. Dallas has its days of course but not the string of days like there is south of it.
