I know we want Ohio state to beat the shit out of Indiana, but what do we want to happen in ACC champ game to give us at least a glimmer of hope of sneaking into the playoffs (however tiny it may be).
For me it’s more about cancelling Notre Dame. Other tough OOC games at least have the potential of the other team being punished for the loss as well. Notre Dame is all risk for us, but Domers won’t get punished. No upside for playing them. With our SEC schedule doing heavy lifting (especially in even years), I wouldn’t hate cancelling other ones as well though.
And committee might be more willing to leave them out because AD chose to not let him Coach playoffs (which I agree with). But he wanted to stay and coach and they are not the same team without the offensive staff.
And they could use conference standings to justify it. We finished 5th in conference followed by OU and then Vandy. If a loss in SEC championship can’t knock Bama out because they finished 2nd in conference then us finishing above OU and Vandy should also matter.
I don’t know if he’s injured/hurt, but he also made that face on a TD throw (so not a reaction to a bad throw). Think it was to the right end; I saw it during highlights. My buddy says all the Mannings make weird faces when they throw. Hope he’s not hurt or heals up before conference play.
Arch was missing those “get him comfortable throws” in the first series. He wasn’t super accurate last year on short stuff. It was even worse this game. But running game and blocking was better than expected and defense was nails and punter was pinning them deep. If Arch is even average in subsequent games, it’s going to be a very a good year.
Sark said something about himself as an injured player at BYU in either post game or Monday press conference that made the thought cross my mind. I didn’t have the thought during the game though.
To add a stat that I heard on the broadcast: Offense has turned the ball over 11 times, and Defense has allowed 0 points on those turnovers. Seems like that can’t be right.
They don’t have to correct anything really. They said crooks “appears” to have made a small donation in the article I found. He is definitely the guy that registered as a Republican though, and they don’t use the “appears” language for that. Idk. But seems like the two people with same name thing lines up (other guy in Pittsburgh and is a democrat) unless someone fabricated it. I definitely did not check that. And will correct what I said if I was fooled.
Not doubting turning off the lights, but I wonder if in this political/social climate of just mean nastiness being the norm if a brief pause wouldn’t be enough to get back on the attack. Hell it might be what most people want.
I could see Biden not wanting to engage in that anymore, but I don’t know shit about fuck.
What if it causes Biden to tone down his rhetoric? Last night was really good for Biden , what if he goes back to just talking about his first term accomplishments? Or will Biden only pause the rhetoric temporarily?
