This is why there is zero environmental benefit even with the supposed savings in gas. Just burning through batteries and starters and lifters and all kinds of other shit way before it should be. Also there is no way to shut it off by default, but there is probably an aftermarket solution. Looking at one for our Acura that plugs in behind the button and essentially just tricks the car to thinking it has been pushed.
Auto start/stop and cylinder deactivation are both dumbass features that do damage and cost more money in the long run for little to no environmental benefit. That said, this is just one more distraction on a mountain of distractions. Do it...or don't.
Got a text from the wife saying the pool pump was being loud. Told her to go turn it off! Got home and it would not turn back on although I heard it trying. It's a 2 year old Hayward 3206 VSP which is not exactly cheap and has gone up about 20% since I bought this one. Uninstalled it and took it apart today. Looks like this bushing was trashed. Ordered new parts and hopefully this will fix it and save me a few grand. Always something.
They're saying it was an auto play of the next video. I honestly don't give a fuck if that's true. They fucked up...again...and handled it exactly as you would expect them to handle it. Zero accountability because nobody holds them accountable. For anything.
I've also thought an easy solution at the time the house is built is to add an access panel and shutoff valve inside the wall for each hose bib. It's crazy that we have to deal with this BS when simple solutions have been available for decades.
The weather in this state sucks fucking balls. Is there going to be ice in Houston or not? That map from two days ago seems like no, but others say yes.
