  1. I appreciate the honesty in your post. I was accepted in the business school in Fall 1980. I hate to acknowledge it but it was much less difficult then to get accepted compared to today. There is no question my UT degree helped land a dream job with a large bank in Boston in the 90’s. We were required to attend executive education at Babson College with visiting professors from Columbia. I was ahead of most of my colleagues on quantitative analysis assignments. They were mostly Ivy League and well regarded NE Liberal Arts college graduates, Coby College, Swarthmore etc. No question the heavy quantitative focus at UT business prepared me well. So yes my degree had exceptional value.
  2. The ending was penthouse forum stuff but not safe to post of a family oriented forum. Does that make you feel better. I pray Eric Holle is not on Surly! I have a legal issue regarding elder financial abuse on my 89yo mom and 92yo dad. I’ve always considered Surly my community friends. Is there a forum for advice?
  3. Eric Holle was dating a Jewish girl that was in my business classes at UT. She had a twin sister and had that gymnasts build. Very hot and cute. I only knew her because I probably had ADHD and constantly met her to copy her notes from lectures. Anyway I was sitting at her apartment one night visiting, it was near old tennis courts . She said Eric was on his way over so I told that as a hint to leave.I also remember Robert Brewer was in my Finance classes. I’m so old Greg Abbott was a Senior in my fraternity when I was a pledge!
  4. This hits home asshole. I was a student at UT early 80’sI remember going up to Mike Babb the team center before Christmas break at I think Silver Dollar or similar bar. I reminded him before the Alabama bowl game we have never lost to Alabama. He said I know but the look on his face was like who the fuck is this guy! Wasn’t rude just didn’t need a drunk Frat guy interrupting his evening!
  5. I posted the idea several days ago to only recruit OT for interior lineman based on success at that position. It inspired a gif of if we recruit tackles we don’t need to evaluate guards. At the same time recruiting took off because I’m convinced staff reads out material here and took our advice. You can all thank me later. You are welcome!
  6. I’ve witnessed this IOL conundrum journey the past few years and have a possible solution. I’m just spitballing here, but it seems like Flood has done OK with the tackle positions the last few years. Banks, Williams, Baker and Goolsby. What if Sark instructs Flood to designate all interior linemen as tackles instead of guard or centers then apply coaching and evaluations to the interior tackle positions similar to what he has done on the outside. I’m confident it would unfuck Flood’s mind regarding IOL incompetency and resolve this issue.
  7. Wait till they see 247 has us ranked #1 overall commits and transfer! Lol
  8. I like his predictions but I believe the gargle our balls one didn’t fair well.
  9. This reminds me of significant moments in our history. Bo Davis and Augie level melts! This is exactly how I felt watching this disaster. I love this guy!
  10. I’m with you. Meaning drunk. The build up is unreal!
  11. Every time someone asks for pictures no one follows that rule. Send me a DM and then I’ll send it. I’m not blasting it on public forum!
  12. Wow this hits close to home. I went to my first game against TCU in 1971 with my dad. I was in awe and from that day forward and wanted to attend Texas. Graduated business school 1983. The stadium had the pylon score board I think south end zone and the track circled the field. The cheerleaders were riding little Honda 50s that I wanted at that age. After that experience, I made a point to take my girlfriend’s children to games to indoctrinate them and experience what I did. They all said I want to attend UT after seeing a game and walking campus. My girlfriend is 26 years younger and her kids are only 6,8&9 so we shall see. I agree we are on a run like early 2000’s.
  13. I have a Glen Campbell story since I’m old. In the 70’s he was playing in Houston and I was staying at the old Rice Hotel. My great Uncle was Commisioner of the Texas Employment Commission now known as Texas Workforce Commission. My Great Uncle was friends with the owner and he gave him like the grand suite for visits from Austin probably so he never had to deal with employment issues? I think his wife , my great aunt ,was frequently having medical issues visiting the medical center. We would travel from Clear Lake and stay in the suites it seemed like they had 5 rooms. Anyway, Glen Campbell was up at the bar when we were there and we went to meet him. He was rude and didn’t want to be bothered. Didn’t go well. That’s all I got!
