  1. https://x.com/mzenitz/status/2020191307831079114He is Coach Booms nephew
  2. It’s a little weird that Gideon hasn’t been announced yet. Since his reported hire he’s retweeted a graphic announcing the hire of the new GA Tech OC and some GA Tech beat guys are saying he is still in the building and working for GA Tech. Reminds me of the Akina situation from a couple of years ago when the 9.95ers all reported he was coming in as an analyst and were just flat out wrong
  3. None of this matters if Kyle Flood doesn’t get his fastball back. I don’t think I’ve ever had my opinion of a coach change as drastically over the course of one year as much as I’ve lost confidence in Kyle Flood these past couple of seasons. I can’t believe it takes more than half a season to identify and solve problems that should have been solved in the offseason. If we can’t protect Arch better or run the ball, then we can’t run the sark offense at its best. The screen game and the deep play action are what makes this offense go. Which are both dependent on a respectable run game. Sark is 34-7 at Texas when his team rushes for 150 yards. With 5 of those losses coming in year 1.
  4. Could also be a signal that Gideon is on his way back.
  5. I don’t need fucking stats to tell me what my eyes can clearly see. Texas hasn’t had a WR with the size and ball skills like Coleman since Collin Johnson. Unlike Wingo, Coleman was in a high school offense where he only ran hitches, slants, and Go balls. Is he Jeremiah Smith? Probably not, but we don’t really know. The fact that Coleman has been elite with Payton Thorne and Jackson Arnold throwing him the ball tells you all that you need to know. Nash can eat a dick, he does not know ball. Coleman is elite, Wingo is good.
  6. New year, new thread. Coach Boom is back! Neal Brown took a lot of our off field support staff with him to North Texas so it should be fun to see how we reload. We are currently waiting to see who we are going to hire to coach safeties and whether or not we will retain Johnny Nansen or the nickels Coach Keynodo Hudson. Seems like Coach Baker and Coach Clark are safe. Chris Jackson has been extended, and Flood is getting one more shot. Jeff Banks has been disappointing, my pipe dream is to bring in either a TE coach or a new ST coach to take some responsibility away from him because it simply hasn’t looked good these past few seasons for one of the few million dollar position coaches in the country. Sark made the first big balls move of his tenure in moving on from PK, now comes the excitement of seeing what else he has up his sleeve. Sark, stunt on these hoes.
  7. Neal Brown is officially on staff per Anwar
  8. Kellen More is fully embracing the college game to with his defensive staff. Bo Davis, Terry Joseph, and the just hired Peter Sirmon from Cal. Should be interesting.
  9. Our ability to pass rush next season might be the best we’ve ever seen around here. If we are truly going to major in man coverage then we will be just fine. We have two of the top 10 players in CFB in our front 7. Man coverage will allow them to dominate games.
  10. Just pay Jim Leonard 1.5 million to leave Denver and call it a day
  11. Losing both secondary coaches is not ideal. There may be some growing pains.
  12. I kind of understand where @BurntOrange&White is coming from, the op’s question did seem to have a critical connotation to it. Although BOW didn’t have to be such a dick about it lol. But all of the support staff guys that we’ve had under Sark have been excellent. Two are now full time NFL assistant coaches, and the rest have either been promoted in house or are currently full time coaches on other staffs. You want guys that are hungry and eager to progress in their careers working under your full time assistants. I think that ideally you want unproven guys with good personality traits and high energy as assistant position coaches and you want your analysts to be the guys that have been around the block a few times. I know that it’s already been noted but the recruiting and scouting army that Sark has put together is fucking impressive. We are the leading the pack of the entire damn sport. So in that regard, it’s silly to be critical about anything that we are doing right now support staff wise.
  13. He joins Jeff Banks, Chris Jackson, and Johnny Nansen bringing our total to 4 former Washington State lettermen on staff. Banks’ rolodex is the gift that keeps on giving.
  14. Luper with the UT logo is very interesting. The dude has been recruiting Texas for ages and has some very strong connections in DFW. He is a favorite of many high school coaches and has coached a good number of guys who are on currently on staff at some big time schools. I don't know anyone who knows him that doesn't like him. He served in a "High School Relations" kind of role while he was RB coach at TCU and organized all of their big camp stuff. I bet that he's a Gary Patterson recommendation.
  15. According to a level 3 source in Fayetteville, this is another name to keep an eye on. He fits the Sark profile of young energetic up and comer and does have some overlap with Brandon Harris at UT. He was a finalist to be on Sark’s initial staff. He’s never coached running backs but seems to be loved everywhere that he’s been. https://uwbadgers.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/kenny-guiton/2364
  16. Wow we are really building a Death Star with the support staff. Very impressive
  17. Ryan Day gave up playcalling two years ago and gave Brian Hartline a shot. They really struggled, that’s why he brought in Kelly. I chuckle when I think of what would’ve become of Ohio State if Bill Obrien never got offered the Boston College job. That’s a fun alt history. The Sark playcalling conundrum is fascinating. Sark is a very emotional playcaller and that’s what makes him great. He uses not only his scheme stuff but he relies on his relationships with his players and his knowledge of what they are confident in(very baseball-like). He’s mentioned this being a big part of his philosophy and he said that it was the main reason why he made PK come down from the press box after his 1st season. All that being said, the 3rd quarter stuff has got to get fixed because it’s unacceptable to be as bad as we were. We never scored more than 7 points in the 3rd quarter against a P5 opponent, yet we tripled our opponents in 3rd quarter yards lmao. It makes no sense. As far as the redzone stuff is concerned, Sark has got to have a plus run game or he becomes a prisoner to his creativity. The Bama and SC offenses were historically elite in the redzone because they had backs who could do it on their own. We were great in years one and two with Bijan and we’ve fallen off since. I think simply that without an elite back, Sark just has some serious Redzone demons. His redzone struggles cost 2019 Bama vs LSU, Atlanta as OC in the playoffs on a 4th and 1, and at Texas he threw a quick screen on 4th and an inch to Xavier Worthy in Dallas and obviously the semifinal endings in back to back years. I don’t think it has to do with him being the HC I think it’s just who he is.
  18. New year, new thread. Sark just signed his extension and we are going to get to see what a remarkable 5th straight year of staff continuity yields. Should be a fun year to follow the analyst/special assistant movement. Texas is now a prime destination spot on both sides of the ball.
  19. I bet these next two weeks will be focused on opening up the downfield passing game.
  20. Outstanding hire! He’s a Craig Bohl guy. I am very interested to see what he and Nansen will add to the PK scheme. It also doesn’t hurt that he knows the Michigan offense quite well.
  21. Aggy pitching commit https://www.perfectgame.org/players/playerprofile.aspx?ID=672296 https://www.prepbaseballreport.com/profiles/NC/Samuel-Cozart-6925103874-3701894562
  22. Leaving Austin for Denton will do that to you. Lol. Great to have him back!
  23. Excited to see the DL hire but I’m more excited to see how we fill out the support staff. I bet that some of those Bama support staffers are going to end up in Austin. Hopefully we can get some of their recruiting and player personnel people too.
