  1. This guy has to be a hospital janitor - right? There's no way in hell he is possibly a doctor. He actually said he'd let his license expire if he made a lot of money in bitcoin.
  2. In fairness, the other guys "@" you so you got a notification. @Gil Bang didn't do that, so you were pretty clearly reading the thread looking to be offended. Just thought I would point that out.
  3. I can’t tell which is more remarkable - the fact that the main thread is just below this or that you are tying Di’s death to this nonsense. You should definitely do a little more research before posting.
  4. It just shines a light on how bad the polling must be. I agree there’s no practical way it should help, but I can’t wait to watch it fail.
  5. Shockingly, Richard Marx is a pretty good Twitter follow as well...it’s a hell of a world.
  6. That article is from May 21st and I am virtually certain it has been discussed. Have any other timely Washington Examiner content?
  7. So @GRHorn said he worked in a hospital and it’s assumed he’s a doctor, but what if he’s a janitor? It would explain Bob’s as a destination meal, at least. He is also dumb as a bag of hammers (where is he, btw?) and I would prefer a doctor who isn’t as dumb as a bag of hammers.
  8. You keep saying this, but in a broad sense, it just isn't true. Maybe people are wearing masks where you are, but there are many places where masks are a rarity. While Dallas is good, Tarrant county is bad, for example. We keep trying to tell you this, but the world doesn't revolve around you.
  9. Nice to see Slorch and Sack are back to backing the blue unequivocally. Even if the taser were a deadly weapon (it's not) and even if the cop didn't know it was out of charges (he should have) there is still no need to shoot someone in the back when they are running away. Also, since they were engaged with him for 45 minutes, they knew there were no other weapons, so I don't know wtf Slorch is talking about.
  10. You pretty clearly don't follow him - you should, he's a great follow.
  11. Duh doy, it’s increased testing. You will never get @dcar00 to acknowledge reality. For reasons that can’t be discussed here, he is all in on “it’s no big deal”. He just said it would be over 120k (no shit, Sherlock) and that’s as far as he’ll go. He has a vested interest in underplaying the pandemic.
  12. It’s weird, that idiot @dcar00 has been saying for months that there is no issue, but the cases (and hospitalizations) keep going up. What special knowledge does he have that state leaders don’t?
  13. Sure, but if both of them stopped posting about it...
  14. Way behind on the thread, but it’s a myopic take and you should watch the video.
  15. Thankfully, it’s got a 0.0% chance of passing, but that asshole needs to be in the guillotine line.
  16. Did I miss a memo? Is there a reason this thread is an orgy of HCQ information when 99% of the planet doesn’t think it’s a panacea? Can @triplehorn and @Anastasis take that conversation elsewhere? or maybe I’m the idiot and I should ignore this thread? FTR, I am fine with being an idiot...
  17. All Trump supporters are cowards and/or racists and/or idiots. Is that clear enough for your cowardly ass?
  18. We watched it earlier and it was powerful. As he said, it wasn’t terribly funny, but it was extremely well done.
  19. I have a question...did you not know about the hospitalization data that Brad posted or was there a reason you posted only part of the story? cases are interesting, but we all know that hospitalizations is where it’s at.
  20. You are neither right nor popular, so you have that going for you.
  21. Poor you! Try to keep a stiff upper lip, old chap, we know you’re the true victim in all this.
  22. I assumed it was Chrispy, but I guess that could be wrong.
  23. I read this factoid, but I completely reject the source of the factoid as an asshole. Regardless, here’s my recollection of the factoid I read. is that right?
  24. I agree with all of this and I am by no means a STAY HOME absolutist, but a large driver of the behavioral change will be/should be addressing the factors that are causing the concerns. Our meeting discussing reopening our office also included specific details about closing the communal kitchen, blocking off most conference rooms, sign in sheets for employees to do tracing, and a capacity restriction that would limit us to *10* people in the office at a time. With all of that, 85% of the staff still essentially said nope. If we are serious about getting back to something close to normal, it’s vital that we as a country focus on every possible mitigation tool, for both practical and psychological reasons. The people protesting now are having the exact opposite impact, but our leadership is too dumb or scared to lay all of the cards on the table. Countries like NZ played it right from the beginning and it’s paying off for them. Then again, look at SK...they also did great from the start, but one guy got all of the bars closed again. This is going to be a slog.
  25. Take-out business soaring at Dallas restaurants in spite of reopened dining room The article is behind a paywall, so I don’t expect everyone to read it, but that is the headline from the notoriously liberal Dallas Morning News. Would you like to hazard a guess as to why the “opening” isn’t blowing the doors off everywhere? The 25% (or 50%) threshold isn’t profitable and the OWNERS DON’T FEEL SAFE! Now, what might make them feel safe? Maybe testing and contact tracing? Nah, that’s Orwell taking away muh freedoms. People are not going to dive back in (unless they have to) until that happens. It’s anecdotal, but I was on a call with our local office this week (national consulting firm) and our GM put up a poll relating to when people want to come back to the office (or go to a client’s office.) it was 1-5 scale, with 1 being “Nope” and 5 being “Save me a seat.” There were around 150 people on the call - 66% selected 1 and 19% selected 2 - nobody with any options is going anywhere. Bunch of liberal IT consultants I guess. As many have said, you are out of your element, so just stop.
