Derka, in lieu of this thread getting nuked, maybe stop visiting it if it triggers you - which it will. Posters are going to call you on what looks to be an overreaction, with the benefit of hindsight. Personally, I kind of like the thread sticking around. It’s not much different than the Fire X Coach threads that start the day after hire. We’re passionate and sometimes overreact without the full story being told. That’s ok. Just don’t let it get to you when people give you shit or don’t visit the thread. It’s not like you’re a dumb shit like Greggym, whose monumental stupidity caused him to shrink away in rightful ignominy.
I feel for the good people at The Onion. Lampooning this corrupt, absurd culture is no easy task when reality is reliably hard to believe on a daily basis. Dog years: human years are 7:1, or so I’ve heard. What’s the ratio for pre Trump: Trump years? I feel like I’ve lived weeks some days.
I don’t fault anyone talking about tourney projections. It’s what we normally do this time of year. For me, this season won’t be measured by success in March madness. If this team continues to improve and makes the tournament, I’ll consider a success after the way things started.
I agree that there’s not a 1:1 relationship between Bannon’s stated plans and executed plans. He is a master of inflammatory rhetoric to be sure. I see it as seeking to normalize the idea and test the waters. It’s part of the inorganic, manufactured ‘rabble rabble’ imaginary public opinion voice that Trump points to when he starts sentences with “People are saying…” It is a goddamn conspiracy to undermine democracy at the highest levels, from evil fuckers who seek no good for the world’s non- billionaire class, Americans included.
The threat could not be much clearer. What’s the rule of law’s response? Bannon: ICE to Surround Polls If the rule of law can’t stop it, what can? We are rapidly approaching a By Any Means Necessary point in the simulation, if we didn’t pass it some time ago.
It has been pleasing of late to watch Miller’s use of timeouts and plays that are drawn up during TOs. It’s almost like the offense has an advantage when they execute the plays. Too many times, Shaka and RT went into the half with timeouts still in their pockets.
