  1. I agree on your Down take. Arguably the best football player in the draft. He will likely go too cheap RBs is are tough, especially for RBs under 200 pounds. They would have to have 1 hell of a season to 1st round, but I am all for being wrong here. Siani- OT is always a spot that guys can make a big move. Going to be a little tougher playing at RT though McDonald can do it. Talent is certainly there. He is kind of Overshown right now. Lots of flash plays but still lacking the consistency. Going to be interesting to see where he is with different coaching.
  2. McDonald is not close to a 1st round guy currently. He has 1st round talent, but he is a safety. Caleb Downs has been one of the more dominant safeties we have seen in a long time in college, and he is struggling to get inside the top 10. Projected 2027 mock (ridiculously early mock) has Arch, Cam Coleman, Goosby, Simmons, and Wingo. I really cannot come up with a draft eligible guy that Texas lured back that is a probable 1st round pick.
  3. It all depends on how it happens. If Texas is 9-3 next year and Arch misses half the games, he may still be here. Injury luck is a major factor in a team's success.
  4. I like Freeman, but Lanning has not proved much different than Sark. Both are getting tagged with cannot win the big one. Lanning has been blown out the last 2 years in the playoffs.
  5. RZ is a legit gripe. Perhaps the biggest issue is taking care of the football vs elite teams. In 2024 Texas lost 3 games and turned it over 9 times in those games. 2023 Texas had 2 losses. Turned it over 5 times in those 2 games When you play even competition it is going to be a slugfest. You cannot be sloppy with the football I used 2024 and 2023, because those teams had a chance to compete for NCs. I do not think the 25 teams had that type of talent. Hopefully, Arch can help change that. He was amazing with ball security this year.
  6. They averaged 4.40 yards per play vs Miami averaging 4.68 yards per play against for the season. Ole Miss average 6.63 yards per play. They did not look better than Ole Miss. Indiana had the lowest total yards of any offense vs Miami in the playoffs. They had the second lowest yards/play (A&M 4.35, OSU 5.63). Turning point of the game was the blocked punt for a TD. The OL struggled. The reason I pointed out the fact that the Indiana OL struggled was hoping that I would stop seeing moronic posts about how Texas OL needs to dominate elite DLs. Your post saying Indiana struggled vs Miami, because Miami is elite on the DL suggests you understand that elite DLs do not get dominated.
  7. One of the best edges rooms but based on your posts I thought good teams were supposed to dominate elite DLs.
  8. Just my opinion, but CFB is going the way of the NFL. You are no longer going to see dominant teams. Top teams from 5-10 years ago would roll through these playoffs. The days of a 5 star waitign his turn on Saban's 3rd team are over. You just cannot stack talent like that in the portal world. You just have to make the playoffs and peak at the right time.
  9. Indiana really struggled on the OL vs Miami. They benched their right tackle. They could not pass protect. Indiana was a good team, but they were far from dominant on the OL.

The key is to have consistency on the OL. It is great to have a Goosby or Banks on the OL, but it doesnt matter if Goosby pancakes someone and Stroh whiffs next to him. If Texas can just get average on the IOL, I think the offense will be much better. Robertson is not a great center. He is pretty much an average center. IF you just get Robertson level play at the LG position, Texas will be much better on offense. Just cannot have the disaster that was Brooks/Stroh at LG and Hutson at Center that Texas started the 2025 season.

Texas is going to be really big at WR this year. There is potential for a really good perimeter blocking game. When we get the rare, good run blocking, Texas Rbs has to cash it in this year.

have to hope the new RBs make a big difference this year. I dont expect Texas to be efficient running the ball, but I hope they are explosive. That was a major issue last year. Cam Coleman should help the OL, assuming he demands a safety over the top.
