Funny. Arch has been pressured all year. Nobody cared, because he was good at avoiding sacks. Florida is a half step faster and the OL was worse. Pretending Arch is sack magnet is not something I thought I would see.
Have you seen the average depth of Target? Did you see the game plan? You would have thought by mid 2Q, Sark would have went to a quick passing game. He did not. I would expect him to be higher in this game. That whole avoiding rushers tends to make the ball come out slower
I am not sure if Brooks is the answer. It’s tough to throw him in there as a true freshman and at a different position.. That said, why is experiment going on vs Florida? Stroh has been a topic all season. The time to figure it out was vs the 3 tomato cans. That is the real issue
He is being asked to carry the offense. This is a bad OL, which you have said 10000x times. There isn’t a skill player on the team the scares a DC. Sadly, I think Arch and the offense would be better under Herman. Herman would realize at some point, usually a drive after it mattered, his offense isn’t working and he would spread it out and let Sam play hero ball. Sark is running 12 personnel making it harder on the offense
Arch had 29 official attempts and there were 6 sacks that is 35 right there. Arch had some scrambles, so it it is probably a 85-90% pressure rate. Peyton Manning would look like ass in those conditions, let alone Arch. I gained respect for Arch. He was running for his life all game. He kept taking hits and throwing the ball. He didn’t turtle. Sure he would like some throws back, but that isn’t a surprise given the environment
Good chance Texas runs a lot of base defense with no Star this week. That would make it easy put Littleton at CB. There is a chance they bring McDonald to Star and have Taaffe and Williams at Safety. Stopping the run has to be the priority this week.
2 things:
1. Livingstone and Moore are both over 70% completions per target (Believe Moore is around 80%)
2. Mosley's biggest benefit maybe getting the screen going. It is has been a missing this year. I have not seen him block, but his size should amke him a capable blocker.
Weird game. Texas defense > Florida defense. Oddly I think most would say that only advantage Texas offense has over the Florida Offense is at QB. (OL is an argument, Florida has more potential, but has not played well)
Florida LBs are not always sound. The DL is bit banged up, but I agree I doubt the OL mauls them. Wisner's vision could be big in this game. I dont think Texas will consistently run on Florida, but if you catch the LBs out of position you can get an explosive. Hit couple and the offense will open up. I think the other key will be Texas WRs ability to win on the outside vs Florida Cbs. Arch throws that well (that may depend on the weather).
The play that I think opened it up for Arch was the 6 man pressure where Arch stood in there, took a shot, and delivered it to Wingo. That is something Texas has not seen in a long time and shows Arch can be a NFL QB. He did it twice in that game (TD throw was another one). I do wonder if he has a bit of Elhinger in him, Sam was usually rough until he took a hit.
I did laugh at the "he is going to miss low and away"... See!! Oh wait, WR has to catch that ball..
I would not equate PFF with guys on youtube looking for clicks. Once you understand they are in the business of clicks, it is on you if you get pissed about it.
It is just a grade from someone. I always love when people get upset about things like this. You take it as a data point, not gospel. Yours eyes should tell you that the RT for Florida has struggled, PFF backs it up. People just like to bitch about anything.
