Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Sark doesn't want to lead a recruitment with money talk. He's going to focus on fit - for both sides - talk about development (keeping the main thing the main thing to maximize a player's long term financial success), 40 year decision not a 3-4 year one (4ever Texas, TexasExes), yet still highlight commercial NIL deals his players have sealed, talk about the way NFL teams have cap slot values for each position and how Texas is no different, etc. Brandon Harris and his team probably delves deeper into how they see a particular recruit slotting in with NIL and get even more in the weeds with any player agent later if everything else seems like a mutual fit. Finally, existing players themselves are made available to discuss with parents and recruits how the program really works, so the recruits are going to see and hear for themselves how Texas is doing with respect to setting the players up for success on and off the field and how well they are following through on any promises/deals negotiated from their recruiting process.

2025 Texas Coaching/Support Staff Thread
It was a role switch, not a promotion. He already held the title of defensive pass game coordinator. The only modification was being over the safety room instead of the CB. The fact that there wasn't a mention of a contract extension/raise with the role modification should have raised eyebrows since he was not extended last year when others were and his old deal was set to expire in March iirc.

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
BMDs aren't guys like LeBron who didn't even go to Ohio State, it's guys you probably wouldn't recognize if you saw them like Les Wexner for Ohio State.

Joke is on us... He may be a TE in name, but they might just use him in a Noah Thomas replacement role as a big receiving target with a wide catch radius to bring in those lobs from Reed.

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
A good leader knows when to delegate. Sark needs to put his entire staff on Red Zone/2 point scenarios for a portion of the off-season before Spring Ball to figure out the best way to attack and defend both and evaluate whether we are missing key skill sets/schemes/body types to succeed in either. Address any shortcomings via the Spring portal and then rep the hell out of whatever concepts they uncover until we line up to face the Buckeyes again in August. We can't allow Red Zone shortfalls to be the reason our season ends for a third consecutive year.

Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor
1) Juco (unless placed there specifically by a power school) tends to take kids off the radar. 2) Kids with talent think they are 3 & done types anyway 3) NCAA may move to a blanket 5 yr eligibility window for everyone to dispense with all of the petitions to extend eligibility for x, y or z.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2025: Duck Around and Find Out
That's why Sark reiterates every off-season that he is building a team and not just assembling talent. You need a cohesive unit of guys bought in to WE before ME to make it through a full season and the CFP.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2024: Bags Don't Beat Bankrolls
This may sound strange, but maybe we allow Williams go to Auburn to get squandered in year 1 with Freeze to make it easier for KJ Lacey to sell them on joining him with the Horns next January after Bond & Bolden et all declare for the NFL draft 🤷🏼♂️

2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
You don't use your normal insurance for an exotic rental, you purchase a policy that coincides with the rental contract. For like an event or weekend rental, it will cost you under $200 usually for the peace of mind that your ass is covered to a certain deductible if you f up while operating the beast. https://www.xinsurance.com/risk-class/rental-insurance-for-exotic-cars/
