I didn’t think that we needed JV in 2017, and I was wrong. I wasn’t just wrong about what a Verlander can do for your team, but I remember the rest of the team was really down about it. They wanted their GM busting his ass like they were.
I’ll be disappointed if we don’t make a move today.
I did the same trip with the wife 7 or 8 years ago. It began as a Napa trip, but we called an audible to Carmel when we found out she was pregnant. Spent weekend in SF and watched the TX-OU game there at the Texas Exes event (good times).
Pro tip: Fleet Week is going on while you are there. It’s one of the most badass things I’ve done. We scheduled our Alcatraz trip by accident while it was going on, and we ended up stopping and watching from the Rock. It’s an amazing view. The ferry rides to and from were amazing as well. We cancelled our plans the following day and found a cool park by the bay to watch. Mixed in some touristy things on the way and after. I’d go back to SF just to do that again.
Back to back opener days seems very dark-era Stros. Makes me appreciate that stretch in ‘17 when Mike Fiers came out of nowhere and bailed us out for a couple of months. Maybe we’ll emerge with a similar deadline move to get us out of the funk.
CSB/ I saw a kid get hit hard in the terrible home loss against KC in the 2015 playoffs. Salvador Perez fouled one off over the home dugout a few rows up and hit a kid in the chest or neck. The crowd went silent (playoff baseball crowd) and the kid’s dad hauled ass up the stairs with the unconscious kid in his arms. Play stopped briefly, but not as long as just now. All the players just stood and watched. Terrifying.
Despite the magnitude of the loss, my only concern post game was that the kid was ok. Found on the interweb later that he was ok. /csb
When I try to explain the TX-OU rivalry to those not in the know, this is what I’m trying to describe. Shoulder-driving poor-postured no-wazing ass goober.
We are going to be ok this year. No need to draw big conclusions from the poor start. I’ll be there Friday, and I share season tix with three good friends. The bats will come alive and we will soon be awash in RISP boon.
I’m concerned with the blowback from the Angel Hernandez fiasco. You gotta think that those union hoes are at least aware, if not outwardly hostile, towards the Stros. This shit has got stop.
That jackass tonight made a mockery of baseball, and I’m afraid Hinch is less tactful than he should be in his response.
This is impossible to confirm without checking the DNA under the ghost's fingernails. My gut says that this is most likely a hoax absent a clear match.
This is my industry. This is a very, very bad fire, but not the worst. As well-trained as the fire response teams are, you just have to let this thing burn and mitigate expansion to other tanks. Unfortunately, the products burning produce so much heat that containing the fire has been impossible to this point.
It's amazing to me that there have been no injuries. Given the magnitude of this fire, that's a wonderful outcome.
I’m still playing this. Gen. Grievous is awesome, and I’m trying to get a handle on how to use Obi-Wan. I’m still enjoying this game and appreciate all of the new content.
You are not wrong. I can’t wait for the actual reviews from “LSU” fans though. My favorite thing about aggy home games are the fake ass travel reviews.
Saw a guy this morning who knows the crew that officiated this game. Apparently this was most of the crew’s first time in College Station, and they’ve been there throughout the holiday. They admitted after the game that they were so impressed with the hospitality that they received that they may have carried a little bias into their calls.
I’m still pissed about the Altuve HR. Just got home from the game and haven’t read this thread. Fucking robbed.
Ill be there again tomorrow. Only other comment is that MMP needs to step it up. I can’t speak right now, but that place sounded quiet. So many T-shirt fans.
Go Stros and go Verlander.
