A lot of tributes online today. This one was so moving I think it needed to be shared. So much resonated with me. Especially the late night after sports but still having trouble getting kids to bed.
Nothing is guaranteed in this world.
You’re REALLY stretching to link SVB and FTX.
I’ll give you the real link. They were both caused and enabled by the Fed.
Over a decade of low interest policy and pumping markets led to large amounts of speculation and straight up gambling. That’s how you got ever expanding crypto bubbles which culminated in FTX. People have more money to throw around so they buy cryptos. Easy money and low rates allow VCs to back entities like FTX without doing due diligence and ignoring massive red flags.
Prolonged easy money also led to financial market complacency with banks like SVB parking huge amounts in bonds that then tanked and took down the bank when the same Fed raised interest rates quickly to try to fix their mistakes.
It’s the Fed, stupid.
It goes without saying that I’m not a lawyer, but my understanding is that the Howey Test is how it’s been that you determine if something is a security. Imo it’s pretty clear that just about all cryptocurrencies are securities. XRP specifically is a monumental scam. That said, the lack of clarity and selective enforcement by the government makes me think the SEC can go pound sand.
Don’t put money on cryptocurrency exchanges in the Bahamas. Don’t be stupid.
One thing I read recently that I hadn't considered which makes wholesale invasion of Taiwan less likely is the China views Taiwan and its people as Chinese. Makes them less likely to go scorched Earth like the Russians who see the Ukrainians as a separate people that need to be subjugated at best or eliminated at worst.
Point of clarification before we can ignore each other forever and quit wasting each other's time.
I exist on this website to point out and laugh at when the experts and mainstream narrative are wrong.
I only admitted to trolling when I rarely share tweets from one account that is extremely triggering to some.
God speed Syd
Drinking yourself to death is such a sad way to go. You almost always get a warning. You show up one day with bleeding esophageal varices or they incidentally discover you’re developing cirrhosis when you have an unrelated surgery. I often wonder what happens to those people after we see them. Some people just can’t quit.
Sounds like you’re not leaving them much choice before you “raze what’s left to the fucking ground”.
It doesn’t really matter. It’s an idiotic hypothetical solution as you said yourself.
