Realignment talk not going away
Found an article from February. It sounds like they were set to get a full share year 1 but that changed when OU and UT negotiated an earlier move to the SEC. https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/ncaa-football/college-football-realignment-texas-oklahoma-sec-2024

I'm also trying to figure out why OU and UT will be getting full shares for 2024-25 from the Big 12.

In a couple of years, the Big12 could realistically control 75% of all Sea Worlds. Someone let the sales department know.

Theoretically I agree with you. But this is happening when ESPN is laying off people and I think I read they are in the middle of negotiating some other sports right now as well. Maybe they'll be more receptive in a year.

The deal was announced December 2020, so before OU and UTx.

There probably is and the negotiation is ongoing. May not be a bad idea to separate the OU/UT negotiation with the 9 game negotiation.

It really looks like we had 5 votes for 3-6-6; 5 votes for 1-7-7; and 4 schools that wouldn't commit to either yet, hence the 1-year bridge schedule being voted in. I'm just glad they didn't lock in 1-7-7 for 8 seasons.

There will also be a push for some of the rotation games that still haven't happened because of the ridiculously long 12 year rotation that the SEC adopted when Mizzou and A&M joined. Like UGA @ A&M or Ole Miss @ Florida

Lots of words, so I'm not sure if you all want it pasted in full here. Trying to break down everyone's preference and why it is. https://flyoversports.substack.com/p/making-sense-of-sec-scheduling-preferences

Because the SEC has 2 conflicting wants/needs. 1) Everyone wants to play everyone else more often. No one likes the current rotation which takes 12 seasons to complete a home-home with everyone. 2) There are a lot of existing rivalries in the conference. Most of the schools want multiple protected games. 3-6-6 is the format that handles both needs the best.

Except UGA. They still haven't made it to College Station and 2024 was supposed to be when it happened.

They decided to not decide on 3-6-6 or 1-7-7. This is a one year bridge schedule with 8 games. It sounds like they will have at least 2 rivalries protected.

Many people aren't aware of the insulating properties of loose tortillas. It will save you dozens. Don't ask yourself if you can afford to have it, rather can your family afford not to have it?

Sucks, but after letting CBS short change the league for a decade, I'm more than willing to wait a year or two for ESPN to come up with the cash, as long as it's a bridge schedule that doesn't kill any of the secondary rivalries the way a 1-7-7 will.
