I remember last season we were gnashing teeth over signing Jackie Bradley Jr. He ended up sucking, and it turned out the Astros FO had a much better plan that involved Straw, Chaz, and Jake. So I hope if the FO does (or doesn't) do something, its because they have another Ace up their sleeve.
Arlington has such a long way to go. That rebuild is in the very early stages in their best case scenario.. some of the guys they are counting on have to pan out.. Like Leodys Garcia.
It will be interesting to see if CC factors that into his decision at all.
You have always been a constant on the Astros thread.. I remember when there were like 6 of us who posted during those 100 loss seasons. We had to endure constant ridicule from Ranger fanboys and our only hope was Altuve learing how to not strike out, and the promise of Correa and Springer being called up.
I was in Laredo on business when Correa got the call up.. I was stoked, and spent 30 minutes calling restaurants to see if they televised the game. BW3's had it; remember those were the days we had the tv contract issues..
When Springer was called up, it was my first time watching an illegal feed on my computer.
It has indeed been a wild ride. I would imagine if someone told us in 2013 we would win a WS and go to 2 others before 2022 we would be pretty damn stoked.
Good news is, its not over. far from it.
Take solice in the fact that we have Jim Crane, who has proven he will do whatever it takes to win. 2025 is a long way off and its hard to predict anything other than the fact the roster will be almost completely different.
All we can do is hope he is offered and accepts what he's worth. Its a 2 way street. And when there's a leadership void, that void is filled. Altuve and Bregman can slide right in..
Yes. The owner has indicated as much. He isn't going to overpay, however.. I know that's not what you want to hear, but the Astros will be contenders the next few seasons, barring epic disaster.
I have 2 tickets for sale for World Series Game 6.. Section 128, row 35, seats 1 and 2.
1000$ each, or 2000$ total for both
I'll forward via ballpark app..
PM if interested!
Serious question... If tonight's game is rescheduled, to they push all games back a day? Or just make it up on Monday.. and have 5 consecutive days of baseball?
Food can be major expense if you eat out/drink out.. Its the easiest way to cut 4 figures off your monthly nut; stop eating and drinking out and shop at the grocery store.. This guy just took it to the next level... and I think his biggest hassle was likely waiting in line and going through metal detectors every time he needed to eat.
The roof should be closed; 70 percent chance of rain Wednesday.. But even if Manfred forces the Astros to do it, and the Astros do not, what is the penalty? If its a fine, go ahead and just pay it... Then, weld the fucker shut this offseason and create the Juicedome.
